Odd.... It works for me. Are you on PS4 or are you simply using a controller on PC that could be the difference. Odder things have happened. Cause it works on mine just fine.
Thanks. I guess scroll wheel rolling ain't gonna work as well then, so I'm not gonna try it.
And exactly this. The trick is just too old now, and while I enjoy a re-use of an older mechanics when done right, I'm not a fan of this particular one. What really annoys me about them is just how much they end up breaking the entire mood of the fight with a cutscene, sound prompt and text prompt, without really adding anything interesting to the encounter. Especially not when the exact same thing have now been done multiple times. If they want to add some flashy intermissions to a fight, then just add it without slapping on an obnoxious feature that will one shot everyone...only to be followed by yet another.
I would have much preferred if these things were incorporated better into the fights than with interruptions. Like fight goes on, everyone gets moved to their spot and their cast bar gets replaced by a "vehicle" bar with whatever ability they are suppose to spam, or have the duty action pop up. No over the top text prompt unless the fight is a whacky one like most of the alex fights.

"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater."
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
The problem is that people with chronic injuries experience pain, from such a speed, or they are not at all able to spam buttons like that. But they can close savages and extrimes, because it is difficult, but without such compulsion to spam buttons
I do really appreciate people trying to come up with suggestions and trying to help think of ways for us to be able to pass this mechanic. Even if they don't work, or if they might only work for some people and not for others. It shows you guys are willing to see this from our point of view. Thank you very much for that.

And the timing of GCD's in this game allows for 2+ second reprieve between actions that causes a lower impact on the hands. That isn't to say there aren't people out there for whom even that isn't painful. But for me personally I can do Savage just fine because it's a dance. I know when to press my buttons, know I can let my hands rest between casts, and as a SCH while there is oGCD weaving to be done it isn't so monumentally overwhelming that I don't get those brief moments of respite that add up over the course of a night. Still need to brace my hands with athletics tape and maybe pop a pain killer on particularly bad nights, but unlike this QTE I don't need to stop playing afterward to recuperate.
Honestly incidents like this make me wish more gaming companies had people who experience chronic pain of some variety in their quality control process. Because this should have been an easy catch and thus could have been fixed with one of the many suggestions that have been tossed around in this thread.
On a related note, games with microscopic or otherwise difficult to read text, subtitles, and menus that were clearly all designed under the impression that everyone (including, presumably, their "quality control") is sitting 2 inches in front of their screens.Honestly incidents like this make me wish more gaming companies had people who experience chronic pain of some variety in their quality control process. This has been going on for years now and even otherwise bestseller games like God of War 2018 got flak for it to the degree that they needed to make an update for it. Why aren't game developers getting the picture yet?

Issues regarding disabilities and limitations are not easy to understand if one does not have personal experience with it. I get where people are coming from when they say it is easy what is the point. This is why I am in favor of an option to toggle it, sure it may invalidate it all together but for those who want to do it with the QTE or not should have the option to choose. I get it is an mmo and a sliding difficulty is not the easiest to put in place due to many reasons. Though it is the MSQ who really cares if they have an option that makes the whole MSQ a a cake walk from the begin.
I get the logistical issues and limitations and know it prob will not happen but yeah that is life
To be honest, we do not know whether the developers are testing their game solutions for disabled people or not. It would be really nice if they test this before launching the next patch.Honestly incidents like this make me wish more gaming companies had people who experience chronic pain of some variety in their quality control process. I roughly understand what they were trying to show with this solution. But, unfortunately, instead of uniting people with one game goal, even the usual discussion of this problem leads to conflict.
This is a wonderful game in which most of the story is about friendship and overcoming difficulties. And it would be great if the developers took this step, helping players who, for some reason, find it difficult and painful to perform QTE, simply by stopping to punish the entire group due to the failure of one person.
I know they did hire an accessibility consultant in January this year and an entire team in last May. But I wouldn't be able to say if they were consulted on this issue. I know I have written to the Accessibility team regarding this issue, but I'm sure if more people wrote it would support and strengthen our cause. So here is the link to contact them.To be honest, we do not know whether the developers are testing their game solutions for disabled people or not.
