I wouldn't go that far, but while it could be better, it could also be far worse. That's just gonna be the rest of the year in general thanks to that wonderful pandemic. I wouldn't expect a whole lot from holiday events from this point on.
While the FATE part was fine, who in their right minds wants to dance for that Lalafell EVER? Seriously, not even a choice to try and say no, just... "You're gonna dance for him!"
In my opinion this was one of the worst events ff14 has ever done, it made no sense, why the hell don't you kill the shark yourself, you've faced far worse enemies than this. and why the hell wasn't the obstacle course and jumping tower here this year? there's notthing to do in this event other than some boring fate, i'd much rather they'd recycled last year's event.
I really love the summer event this year. The mechanic for the fate is fun but simple to do. I know a lot of people like the jumping puzzle but I was glad to not have to do it to complete the event. I just don't find that sort of thing relaxing to do. Although I would have liked to see it still there for anyone who wanted to do it for laughs (but I guess creating a no fly zone might have been troublesome?).
The gear is so lovely I'm not even sad that I can't wear the hat. It's also amazing with the new Bee's Knees dance![]()
there was no stupid jump puzzle tower, so that made the event already a 10/10 for me
My Highlander male hula dancing in a skirt and floppy hat was both hilarious and disturbing at the same time.
My only complaint... no more fish stick quest!
It's disappointing.
There's only that one boring fate, which you also only need to do twice to get everything.
Last year's Moonfire Faire I ran each day to do the tower. Even then, there were other jumping puzzles or repeatable fishing. But this year I doubt I'll ever return.
