While the FATE part was fine, who in their right minds wants to dance for that Lalafell EVER? Seriously, not even a choice to try and say no, just... "You're gonna dance for him!"

We had to dance in the main scenario several times already anyway (for the sylphs and more recently for a perverted Eulmorian) against our will so it's more of the same really.

It's not "having to dance", it's "having to dance for Gegeruju" instead of leaving him to find someone else. (Did we even get paid?)

If it was at least optional whether to do it or not, and you got paid in tokens, that would be different. But he's not someone I particularly want to do something nice for "just because", doubly so while he goes on about his taste in women.

Instead, you have no choice but to do it before you can access the shop.

(Also, that MSQ-forced dance at the Beehive. Ugh. At least make it a sidequest so I can refuse to do it.)

Considering I want to crash Neverreap into the East Shroud because of the Sylphs and I hated having to dance on the Beehive (I would have told Alphinaud to go talk to people while I drew if I had the choice)...

Yes, I do hate being forced to dance. While this was "more of the same" the same is "Stop making me dance!"

And yes, the fact that it was for that Lalafell (Who I hated having to dance for in the DNC quest, so I am consistent) just made it all the worse. He has had NO redeeming qualities in my eyes, and every Moonfire Faire he does anything in just makes me hate him more.

Lets look at this event from another perspective. If you have cleared 5.3 for example. Your character surely must be exhausted. So from an in-universe standpoint this is a welcome change of pace.

And to be honest its about how you look at it. Square cant please everyone and everyone has their right to voice their opinion in a proper manner.
I rather have events like this then none but thats just me.
Personally i liked it and hope more will come in the future if Square and everyone involved can sort out the corona issues plaguing them. (If it isnt already sorted for them)

Yeah, the event seems kind of lesser to the multiple things we could do in the past. Though, I suppose this FATE provides just the right amount of challenge for the FFXIV community, so it's pretty good content.

When I looked at the description of the event, I thought:

Great,
another event that gives you Untradable Unsellable Market Prohibited housing stuff.
Another event that will have you discard something because it's forever useless and takes room you can't spare.
Another event that gives stuff to the happy few and trolls everyone else.

And I thought:
Great,
Another tower I can't climb because I'm too stupid to compensate the lacking third dimension I need to gauge my jumps.

But I thought:
Hey,
Maybe glamour stuff can be nice and maybe emote is nice.

So I thought:
At least, give it a try. You're already disapointed. What worse can happen?

So I did it.

And I thought:
I didn't have to discard housing stuff.
I didn't have to climb.
Gameplay was fun.

Now I can do it again and again and again, just for fun!

I enjoyed the summer event it was fun. The outfit and emote are pretty amazing. Thank you. And relative to the jumping event I think 3 years (has it been) is more than enough.

I enjoyed the event and quite like all of the rewards. It's nice to get a full outfit, a full dance emote and a housing item all from the one event. The FATE itself was silly and fun.
I would have liked the event to have a little more meat to it, or at least a little more staying power, but by admittedly rather low FF14 Holiday Event standards I would say it was probably one of the better ones.

I'm trying to upload a picture i took but it's not showing. I have the img between the url and click the image icon but nothing. I uploaded my picture on instagram or it only work on imgur? Please help lol

Hi Kada! If you are attempting to link from imgur you have to use the Direct Link. I like right clicking and selecting Go to Https: blah blah.png (or jpg).
That lets me double check the picture. I select the full address and copy it. On the FFXIV forums, I select the picture icon, clear the field, and paste my imgur address in the now blank field and click OK.

As for the event, I love it! The Summer festival is always a lot of fun. This particular festival included a bit of lore which is always a good thing.

Now, excuse me... I'm going to switch to my traditional outfit and dance.
