    Alisaie was basically full on depression during ARR. She didn't understood Eorzea and all that she cared about was her grandpa. If you went through Coil then you saw her grow up to become her own person with her own motivations.

    She was always a sensitive girl who suffered the most when people died on her during the MSQ so seeing her happy is supposed to make you feel happy too. And being happy for Alisaie means helping others in a more personal way, compared to Alphinaud's more political methods. That's her character growth...

    Well, her character growth resulted in being obnoxious instead of likable, at least for me. The writers really want our characters to like her, but I'm just not feeling it. Some people enjoy her character and that's fine. I'm just not one of them. Not even close.

    I never completed Coils to this day, but her side story with the girl and the caravan is what got to me. So when we saw Ga Bu it really struck. Seeing her try to be the cool hero but knowing that she's probably one of the sweetest, most caring cast members makes me adore her.
