Why does Alpinaud and Alisee allways have so much Screentime?

This is a serious question, to me it feels like at least one of them appears in every second cutscene and 50% of all total playtime.

Im honest, i don't like those two there are so many characters in this game and a lot of them are way more interesting than those two. It feels wrong that they get always so much attention, while the screen time of other nice characters is way to short.

They're the secondary main characters of the game at this point, so it makes a lot of sense that they'd get the lion's share of the screen time. They're basically there to serve as foils for the WoL with one side exemplifying rational behavior, Alphinaud, and the other exemplifying rash behavior, Alisaie. Course now that SE is more comfortable letting the WoL be their own character, and a rather sassy one at that, the writers might slowly give the other Scions more screen time to spread out the cameos a little more evenly.

Idk, I just wish Alisaie was less obnoxious. I don't need to see how totally awesome she is every 5 minutes. I get it, Alisaie. You're a strong, independent person who doesn't need protecting. Stop shoving it down my throat, please. Alphinaud, on the other hand, is the more reserved one and I thank him for it.

And that's why I never rate FFXIV story more than "okay" and prefer the job stories ������

i can understand alpinaud because he is pretty much our "secretary and spokesperson" in a way and he's been with us like 80% of the story in FF14, heck he and alisae is the person we WOL met the first time the moment we play this game.

as for alisae i cant say much, she start of as side npc but got promoted into one of the main npc, i guess some people like her maybe?


also, iam pretty sure the twin screentime will get somewhat cut starting now because a certain "new scion member" is going to take maybe 50% of their spotlight from now on =P

Because as a silent protagonist, there's not a lot that writers can actually do with our character, so they need somebody else as a stand in.

Alphinaud is probably my favorite scion and kinda wish he had more screen time actually.
He's a total dork at times and its cute.

And I think he probably had the best character development.
He was very unliked in ARR to being liked in HW to loved in SB and ShB.
At least...that's how it was for me.

Also Alphinaud is like...what others said. Is basically the second main character according to Yoshi-P.
He even said if FF dissida added another hero for FF14, he would pick Alphinaud

Alphinaud is probably my favorite scion and kinda wish he had more screen time actually.

He is my favourite scion. I love how he grew so much from ARR through to the start of SB. He had wonderful character development. I like flawed characters and he's definitely quite flawed. Alisae has her own flaws too but quite different to her brother, which I do very much appreciate. The support each other well in all their scenes together.

What I don't get is the crazy amount of love Y'shtola gets from fans. She's a good character with great visual design but to me she just isn't as interesting as some of the other scions. Although her scenes in this patch's msq were honestly wonderful. I'd love to hear more about Y'shotla from Matoya, from the days before she was so wise. I'm sure that wisdom was hard won but we know nearly nothing about it.

That would genuinely make me super tempted to get the game.
