i feel like if they were gonna add it they would actually advertise it, like as a point, rather than just slipping it in. Or at least show it off more, it is pretty heavily requested. I'd laugh if they would just casually slip it in a patch.

yoshida would take a portion of the live letter talking about stickers / butts or even random things but never about the issue with hrothgar/viera , yes they would say we are working on it .. and that's it i don't think the ffxiv team are taking this issue seriously since it's not gameplay related , so if we ever get anything we will know through the live letter . but i hope i am wrong

Because a character is only made out of hats and helmets. It's not like the developers said the new races will come with less usable hats and helmets...oh wait...they did! Always fun to see when players start to cry and demanding change on stuff that was clear before they bought into it.

well if you don't know yoshida DID say that these two races will be getting new stuff and also yoshid NEVER said that these two races will not have the mogstation hairstyles < we only knew after we got the races and tried it for ourselves
i also don't understand why are you so mad about it ? if people want to cry so the devs can hear us and fix this problem let them cry it won't affect you in anyway will it?

I wonder how many would be bothered by the resulting clipping issues if they just implemented the headgear wholesale. Can't imagine a scenario where people would be okay if the ears were hidden since you would otherwise just be playing as an elezen. Legit curious. If you play a bunny let me know, would you accept getting headgear if there was clipping issues that resulted?

Considering how much already clips anyway? I'm fine with it. It'd just be like trying to find something on my Miqo'te that doesn't clip too horribly with her tail.

They seem to be fine letting some pretty important equipment like artifact gear clip like crazy, and just about everything else besides, so that ship has already sailed.

They edit hats/helmets sometimes to go around features like Au ra horns

Adjusted so the horns wouldn't clip; if you understand how it would clip how the female Roegadyn has it.
They could do the same edits on Viera hats (making them smaller/larger on Viera to work around things a little bit).
Clipping is not a really good excuse, I'd rather they say they don't have the time to do it than look for cheap excuses like "it would look weird on Viera heads." What looks weird to one person looks great to another. What's really bizarre to me is the Shadowbringers situation, they should've been adjusting those on Viera/Hrothgar, and stuff like Mogstation hats/helmets.

Like I get that making older gear would take more time to get it all, but new headgear should 100% always be made for all races barring gender locks. That would be like not making Miqo'te not have access to new leg gear because tail clipping and saying YOLO, its old content now, not fixing it.

Well, you know how when you put your hand on the top of the head of a rabbit their ears actually lay back? They could do it here with all the hats/helms. Upon equipping hats/helm their ears will be sticking down backwards of the hats/helm at the back instead. Irregardless of the ear types of course.

What I find surprising is that the newly added headpieces aren't modeled for Viera and/or Hrothgar. The huge backlog of pieces I can understand, but you'd think they'd at least make the new stuff ready for all since they're already working on them.
