All about the "Glam" before the game. Dev's precious attention could be spent elsewhere. If cosmetics are a priority for you, feel free to disagree.

We don't have any data (marketing resources) as to what matters most to paying FFXIV subscribers, only Square enix knows. But just from a very basic analysis of the forum and reddit (countless of glamour/gpose based posts) you'll notice how important the dress-up doll aspect of the game is. For me personally it's up there with the category called "content accessibility."
I played Viera for a while and I loved it. I’m also a glam lover, I must confess.
I perfectly understand the ressource consuming issue to adapt the old stuff. We were warned about this, fair enough.
But as so many people underlined it already, it’s not normal for new haircuts and new gears. By doing this, I felt kind of “punished” for playing Viera. Let’s not talk about Mogstation items...
And they are adding much work on their backs for the future, Vahlnir has got a valid point here.
Just wanted to bring this back to say that Viera can wear the DRG helmet that drops in the new 5.3 dungeon. So we got something lmao. I don't have a picture, but it covers our whole head and just our ears clip through.

That dropped for me, thought it was really weird that I could see it. I wonder if they just forgot to force-hide it for Viera? Hot-fix incoming lol.
Can you imagine? That's when I'll know that we can probably wear a lot of headgear but they don't want us too for some reason lol.
I don't love the design either, just surprised it actually shows. People in the thread were arguing face masks and crowns always worked, but this looks like it's supposed to cover the top too yet Viera can wear it.
More generally though I don't think it looks much worse than Au Ra horns sticking through helmets.
