Somebody said that Elezen males are androgynous. No, they are not. They have definitely masculine faces with a bit more slender, but still bulky bodies. Please read a bit about adrogyny before stating something like this.

And maybe it's a bit unpopular opinion, but I don't understand SE politics. They support LGBT rights (and they have every right to do so) and they add many features to show it in the game (like the wedding dress for male characters), but still refuse to add non-gender stereotypical races. It's illogical. It's like they told us 'You can identificate with anything you want, as long as you are a super cute kawaii desu sexy waifu (or Amazonian woman, but still a sexy one) or a big, bulky and definitely masculine man. Non-sexualized feminine character or a more delicate men are no-no here.' It's just not fair and tiresome. I really appreciate ESO's character creation where you can play a big and ugly female or Aion's where you can play a very masculine big bulky man or a very delicate androgynous boy and nobody cares about it.

Who says you can’t make a ugly female in this game?

I want to play a fat woman with a massacred face (not a little scar, I mean half of it at least). Could you tell how many options do I have?

There's other MMO's out there that allow for such customisation, though the number of people embracing such aesthetics is typically very small.

Might want to find another mmo, because I doubt the devs will spend time making new bodies that aren’t a npc or a new race.

You can't play the male equivelant of that either tho.

I mean generally speaking I am in favor of more options all-around and for everyone to be able to create the character they want to play.
But at the same time it's a bit unrealistic in a game like this, I'll remind you that we don't even have helmets for Viera and very lacking options in general.

SWTOR actually had overweight characters tho I just now remembered it because you mentioned it, but the end result is that most people play them for comedic purposes.
I played SWTOR from Beta and then a couple of years, and pretty much every single overweight character I ran into was very obviously meant as a joke.
Not saying that means they shouldn't exist, just that you do open it up for toxic assholes to troll and be offensive about it.

I actually find a lot of the male characters in FFXIV to be quite androgynous too, they're not very typical when it comes to video games.
The female characters are a lot more feminine altho I mean the LGBT community as you mentioned I also think is quite heavily dominated by femininity.
I don't think that there are any hard numbers on this, but based on the research there is of this that I've seen at least Trans women far outweigh Trans men and most things outwards at least in the LGBT community is very feminine and in a lot of communities masculinity is even demonized.
To the point that Trans men who do want to fit into more of a typical masculine identity feel ostracized.
When you look at games and art made by LGBT creators it tends to FAR more often be very colorful and hyper-feminine.

I also object to the notion that you can't play a '' non-sexualized character '', a woman having a conventionally attractive face and wearing makeup doesn't make her sexualized. You have all of the power to dress up your character however you please.
You could even cover them up from head to toe and hide their entire face lol.

    Lol so much this.
I see this all the time and it annoys me a lot.
I did bodybuilding and moved over to power lifting for around 20 years and socialized with other people who did too, I see so many people who have probably never done weight-lifting at any serious level act like armchair experts about this all the time and it's annoying.
Like I don't have an issue at all with Abby in TLOU2, it's not that serious and yes I know the explanation that they gave in-game ( still dumb, but whaver don't care ).
But I saw people completely unironically argue that it made sense to be buff because she was fighting zombies all day every day and she ate burritos.
    That's.................. Not how it works.
And it also begs the question why everyone else ain't buff too lol.

If it was really that easy then the overwhelming majority of people setting out to get big and muscular wouldn't fail so hard and quit.
And you don't just run around and fight monsters and build muscles rofl.
