Shorter and skinnier than male Elezen is basically Alphinaud. No matter which way you spin it male Midlander with low tone still has an average build. Not that I said Build. We have plenty of youthful faces in game already. What I would like to see is a more delicate body type on a male. People use Alphinaud as a reference due to him being designed to be around the age of 16-17*. While I don't support the idea of an underaged race(Lala's saving grace is it's chibi aesthetic) I do support a frailer body type for males.
*Please note that generally by age 16-17 your body is pretty much done growing physically.
I personally have issues with Elezen's proportions and height range. Not to mention they look a little bulkier than they probably should since they're supposed to be a thinner race. All they look like is a midlander stretched out too far to make them look thinner with pointy ears and less face variety.
That would make them smaller than female Viera. Last thing we need is a repeat of male Au ra female Au ra demorphism. Skinnier than Elezen would start to look like a teenager.
Goddamn, I didn't think I'd have to bring this back haha

I fail to understand the mentality that a jungle warrior MUST be this large built ultra buff male. If you look at tribal folk in the real world they look more like Midlander males than a lot of what I've seen proposed.
And a classic thing. "They'll look like a teenager." Last I check not all small chested women look like teenagers.
Western "jungle people" are mostly extinct. We have no real idea what they looked like in terms of muscles before european invasions; what you see in disney movies is just myth and fantasy. The ones in Afrika however were buff as hell.
Ultimately this isn't about the real world, this is about how skinny male Elezen are already, skinnier than that is teenage territory, and you know this is true. And you make it worse when you say you want them to be shorter than male Elezen.
Yes they do unless they're old.Last I check not all small chested women look like teenagers.

If they fixed Elezen's weird proportions I wouldn't have any issues with then. I work with people taller than elezen and their necks are shorter still.
Honestly if they just did a male with midlander/miqo'te height with the leaner build that they tried for with elezen I'd be a happy camper.
The fact of the matter is we have an oddly large gap between male builds in 2 spots: From Miqo'te to Lalafell and Highlander To hrothgar.

Lalafel to Miquote, sure. But the rest of the male races are on a pretty even curve, and the height disparity between Lala and the next race is still extreme in the female races.
Viera weren't created in female races to fill a height gap, though, they were created to reflect how they look in FFXII, and while they do make the curve for female races more even between the Roegadyn and the Elezen, I don't recall anyone saying they must be that tall to fill that gap in female heights, so male heights shouldn't be the reason one race is a specific height.
BUT if we are looking to even out curves, there are two spots to fill in. A height between midlander and highlander, and a height between Au Ra and Roegadyn as the rest are fairly even. Given what little has been said about the vision of what male Viera would have looked in if implemented, we'd more likely see it fit about between the Elezen and Highlander races, just like they are with the ladies, or if filling a gap, between Au Ra and Roegadyn height (if the added ears on top of that don't cause a problem)

I don't know what you mean by "western jungle people", but there are most certainly still people all over the world who live in jungles, or rainforests, etc.. Such as untouched south american tribes, or others in asia, etc. It isn't that hard to find at all what they look like online. With numerous documentaries, etc. for decades. Then again, I think you actually know this.Western "jungle people" are mostly extinct. I don't know why you bother explaining all of that when I said all of that is irrelevant (I didn't bring up real life, they did). But if you really want to talk about jungle tribes in south america (very few left, if any, specially now that the Amazon jungle is being burned down every year), let's talk about them, physically their females are not tall; same situation with the Southern asian tribes, thus leaving Afrikan tribes as the only comparison. As such the males would be tall and strong; not short and skinny like in South america and Southern asia.I don't know what you mean by "western jungle people", but there are most certainly still people all over the world who live in jungles, or rainforests, etc..
