The twins gotta go. They serve no purpose other than being a voice of WoL and guide where we go next.
Maybe write WoL better so they can decide what to do instead of being some /nod bot with no soul

I thought that was an English only line and not in the JP version.Technically she SHOULD have a ticking clock right now. I mean, even faster than normal people. It's specifically mentioned during one of the HW MSQs (3.1-3.3 iirc) that she's using her own life force to "see". They could just as easily give Krile or one of the twins a promotion.
You're not a simp that's why.I also think they aren't going to kill her, since she's some sort of popular FFXIV "mascot". She's been representing FFXIV in other games for a while, and she's also gotten a special treatment in the MSQ with several exclusive outfits.
Personally, I might be dead inside but I don't feel attached to her at all, so I wouldn't mind it if they ended up killing her for real.
Yshtola is slowly dieing anyway so eh killing her off faster just cause she doesnt get the development you want brah people love her cause of how she is[tho i admit constant death flags on her is rather old]... in a recent interview Yoshida said whoever dies isnt decided by popularity anyway and they have already decided the fates of each main character. But yes using 'face of the game' excuse is kinda annoying to hear all the time.
Thancred had a decent character development but hes not going anywhere past Rynes growth also once hes back on the Source he will be vulnerable af unless someone can recharge his aetheric attacks like Ryne does on the First and we know Ryne isnt going to the Source atm, Urianger is interesting, after ShB im liking him more as he was forced out of his comfort zone and id love to see more of that, many ppl too from what ive seen.
Neither of the Twins will die any time soon tbh.
If it IS an EN-only line, then it's bad localization. Having one language flat out say she's killing herself for doing that is the localization team making EN-players look like idiots when they mention this to people that read/know the F/G/JP versions that don't.
I imagine back on Source he'll be a Ninja/Rouge again since he wont be bringing his GNB gear/weapon back, in fact all of them will not only go back to old Jobs for those that changed Jobs but their old outfits since they don't have any of that gear on their Source bodies.Yshtola is slowly dieing anyway so eh killing her off faster just cause she doesnt get the development you want brah people love her cause of how she is[tho i admit constant death flags on her is rather old]... in a recent interview Yoshida said whoever dies isnt decided by popularity anyway and they have already decided the fates of each main character. As for the Topic Y'sthola is safe & if shes not it's not going be much of an impact full death since she's "died" every expansion so no one is going to take her actual death serious at this point.
A system error occurred during event movement.
I like Y'shtola, but her purpose seems to solely exist as regional lore expert. She doesn't have an arc nor development. Y'shtola is a static character through and through. Only rising up when the writing staff needs 'Knowledgeable Character about World/Ancient Lore' to appear. She does have more screentime time in ShB than both SB and HW, however, there's not much there to it. She's there to solve an issue in Rak'tika (which could be solved eventually without her) and bring to light a problem the player, Urianger, and Milfilia are already aware of.
While there's nothing wrong with a stoic character like Y'shtola in general. The writing staff pretty much excludes her from any meaningful interactions during the growths of the other characters, which limits her even further. She's rarely there for FFXIV defining moments and there's no juxtaposition between her already fully-realized self and the still growing, more animated cast of the rest of the Scions. She's not even a mentor-like figure for the rest of the cast to look up to, which would honestly be a really easy feat to accomplish. Heck, Thancred is still growing and changing with each expansion, and they've greatly fleshed out Urianger, who was nothing more than an exposition dump in ARR. When your receptionist (Tataru) has more of an impact than you, on a team, there is a problem. It just feels like Y'shtola is still here because SE decided she is the crossover XIV rep, so she needs to make an appearance to validate that, from time to time. Otherwise, she would have been an easy write out (with the end events of ARR and a similar one in ShB) from the staff with how they've handled her.
Ultimately, Y'shtola is probably the Scion I care the least about. It's not that she's an offensively bad character or anything, but she doesn't really have anything to make me interested in her, I guess?

Wha?
The twins are great, one is really witty and basically speaks the players mind on some matters and the other is charming as heck and a total dork.
Idk how someone could hate the twins at this point. Maybe in ARR? but SB and onward, they have been nothing but amazing characters.
I miss the openings for each city state in 1.0. I think its because you got to participate in a small fight. I still like the Ul dahl opening though, the gobbue running amuck inside the city during the parade.Take this with a massive grain of salt as I've not read much of the MSQ (did do ShB in full), but I've never cared too much for her either. :P
The 1.0 Limsa opening scene when she comes in and saves your arse with her bubble always gave me goosebumps, but that was probably the only time I've liked her. Those intros also solidified Yda and Papalymo as my favorites due to their personalities and relationship in that scene. I realize how ridiculous that is to base any opinion on intro CSs from a 10 year game, but there we have it!
I do plan on working through the full story once they release the revamped ARR MSQ. I figure 7+ years in, I should finally know what's going on. X:
The ones they have know are kind of blah honestly.
But on topic here, even SE is hinting that someone is going to die....
