Some people are really looking for attention with these thread titles, lol.

It was a tad baiting, but was not else sure how to frame it because I know anxiety in itself is enough reason for many to expect accommodations. Though I generally do not agree, that one should expect accommodations even for factors far outside of their control. Though this mostly stems from my own personal battles with my own mental and physical handicaps I deal with personally. I have never understood why because we may have limitations why we should automatically assume accommodations will be made on our behalf.

I know my view is unpopular, I get shit for it daily in group and in school / work among my peers. I did not want to risk turning the other thread into a shit show like the other threads when such issues were brought up.

Same here, which is why I don't believe when someone says there is a "community standard" (that must be followed or you're garbage) about how to run a dungeon. Most people are willing to adjust either way.

That's largely been my experience as well. I don't have the thousands and thousands of runs done like some players have, but I've been around long enough and have done enough to have seen quite a bit. And I can't say I've seen real friction more than a handful of times. Everyone might not be on the same page in terms of level of play (and yes, some runs can be a tough go) but the vast, vast majority of players have been able to work together even just long enough to get a clear and go their separate ways. I also can say I literally can't recall ever running into any situation where there was push back on advice given in a mature, constructive manner, or push back if a player actually spoke out with a preferred play style. Not saying it doesn't or can't happen, but it's no where near as common among the general play base as some people make it out to be.

Part of it is attention, but not the only part man.

I am cool if my thread gets deleted, since it was the one I created. Though as I said rather not risk causing issue in a thread someone else created. Sure it is a fantasy since in the grand scheme prob would not be much of an issue, just rather not run the risk. Though I do enjoy my fantasies, still holding out for a chubby option.

Though does it have to be that play? In the end we are all part of the same overall community that is FFXIV. Sure everyone has their own reasons for playing and goals, and often times those may not align with everyone and that is okay. I have just noticed that often some will take that as a means of a personal attack if one does not conform to their desired style of play and I honestly do not get that line of thinking.

Some people are pretty justified in thinking a difference of opinion is a personal attack. In another thread you're active in I have seen people literally being told "if the healer or dps pulls for you that means you're a bad tank" without considering that sometimes players other than tanks can make bad decisions. Comments with a mentality like that appear as little other than an attempt to degrade someone's character just so they can feel superior. That is an attack.

You need to understand that while we are one community we are multifaceted to the point that it's more accurate to say that there are several distinct communities. Even when a difference of opinion is not intended to be or is taken as an attack, the hard truth is we as a whole will never agree on all the big issues players in this game face. Frankly the playerbase is too diverse to realistically hope that we can truly be unified as one community.

Sure sometimes people's opinions can change over time or can be convinced to change through conversation with another player, but sometimes no one's opinion is actually wrong. Sometimes the different methods of many players are perfectly legitimate, just happens that some are mislead or delusional enough to think that only their method is the correct one. And then the cycle of argument continues forever and ever and ever and ever...

No, I don't think we are. We all play the same game, but we do not share the same community by any stretch. After over 130 total pages and a thread that had been deleted entirely, it's really just strawmen fighting other strawmen at this point.
