Rather than muscular, they are "shaped", "balanced" and emmit some kind of classy vibe, they have charisma. The fact to have handsome face helps but some kind of peaceful self-confidence has a real impact.

Johnny Depp, Will Smith or Matt Bomer are good example about the fact that charisma is more important than to be "muscular". They are balanced but not athletic (especially at the start of their career).

Charisma's a hard thing to develop in seconds though, especially since eikons are manifestations of a cause or emotion (OG Titan's multiple personalities comes to mind).

I also think trends in 'hot men' show that personality isn't necessary. As was brought up, Cavill is considered one of the hottest men of this era but his main role, Superman, has him show less expression than a cardboard box splashed with hot sauce. There are men with charisma that are also considered attractive- but there's a great deal of men who either have neutral personalities or even rather repulsive ones that are considered extremely attractive (the most clear example I can think of is the latest Joker- despite his no confidence stutter, anorexic body, generally slimy appearance, living with his mother, irrational mind, abusive anger and being a violent stalker- all things that are almost checklist criteria for things people don't find attractive in men, one of the big conversations after the movie came out was people saying how hot they found him).

We can go over what makes men attractive- and find that in several of the characters in FFXIV- so at this point the thread seems less about SE providing not enough attractive or half naked men- and more about SE providing not enough 'men that I personally find sexy'. SE providing mostly naked and attractive men, at least by conventional standards, is something they can do and are doing. Meeting everyone's specific fantasy males though- a bit harder especially since people are kinda judgmental about it (and I thought it was rough trying to reach society's feminine beauty standards- men seem to have it rougher than I thought, sheesh).
