This idea was throwing around in my head and I do like it. The only downside is that instanced housing would fell really empty. TBF the housing already feels empty so not much of a loss I suppose.Imo they should also make instanced FC districts a thing. If players own a house in their FC district than they can't own a house an non instanced house.
At this point it already seems like a bit of raffle anyways. At least this way players could walk away and do other things.
Although I think players should only be able to enter one raffle at a time.
We are nothing more than what we leave behind.
yeah! That's why I think only FCs should get instanced districts. They can keep individual housing non-instanced. I've heard stories of FCs harassing people because they wanted a district to themselves. So it might help that issue as well. Not only that, but it can give something fun for FCs to work towards depending on the requirements SE put in place.
Imo I think the positives outweigh the negatives with these suggestions. Like yeah it would suck to lose rng but, it better than having to sit there for hours on end just clicking.

The only issue I can see atm is resources, is it more economical for instanced FC housing or harmful? Because I doubt they have the capability to provide an instance for every FC so how many do they make? and how big? Lets imagine the Firmament is going to be Instanced FC housing. The main FC house would have to be the apartment building (location wise) then they would have to flush out a brand new interior for that building. then members of the FC can either buy houses in the ward or live in rooms in the FC house like now. Then there is how many do they make? 30? 50? 100? more? Even at 100 instanced FC houses (per server) there will still be A LOT of FC with no home allowing for further expansions to provide housing both instanced and non-instanced.The question is, what can they afford?yeah! There would need to be a lot of tweaking of the idea for sure. I actually think largest issue would probably come from the back end of the server, with what it can and can't handle. Which they could bottleneck with what requirements and qualifications are needed for a FC district. So only the FCs who really want it would go for it. As I personally don't see every FC feeling the need for a whole district anyway. The only issue I can see atm is resources, is it more economical for instanced FC housing or harmful? Dude u should have been here back in the day, compared to what u guys got now, back in the day was the golden years.
I got a shirogane small for 3 mil cause some chick got bored of being a house owner and we negotiated a deal fair to us both, the days when u drop a house and sell it or drop it and someone could come by and buy right then and there was the good days of ffxiv housing, still had the not enough housing problem and there were times people were dicks and overcharged but from the experienced and I've been through they were way better then what u guys deal with today.
Only good new housing system is were they lock private house to your account, I feel for ya cause I been trying to help some friends get property in this new system but haven't been able to do so.
I got my house
Actually, instanced housing could feel LESS empty:
1. Eliminate the multiple wards, which separate players between them.
2. Instance the plots themselves, so each one can have hundreds of owners. This would result in many more players running about in the streets.
For visiting, you select which owner's contents to show on the plot via the placard. This could also be used to customize the appearance of your immediate neighborhood. Each player could lock up to 6 plot appearances around their own house if they wish. The rest just show random contents.
Ideally, displayed / selected plots would let you see their owners out in the yards as well.

wowowow, can you imagine how hard is it to actually do that programming wise!? the server for 6 lock up for EACH player... and they all need to read the customized garden and appearance... holy hell, SE even having a hard time adding glamour plate and you ask for that?
It has to load all the other houses and yards now when a player arrives in the ward anyway, so is it going to make a big difference load up 6 custom ones in place of the default random yard layouts?wowowow, can you imagine how hard is it to actually do that programming wise!? the server for 6 lock up for EACH player... and they all need to read the customized garden and appearance... holy hell, SE even having a hard time adding glamour plate and you ask for that?

What do you think is easier: loading 30-ish plots or loading hundreds of thousands of plots * 6?
