Why should your 500 Eden Verse gear give you a leg up in this content? It's like whining that you have to level your gear in deep dungeon, it's it's own content that's meant to challenge you in that zone/ instance. It's a level playing field where you're mean't to put in time and effort to make yourself stronger there.

Also they outright said that people who actively SPAWN the stuff will have priority over others. There's no reason to think 2 or more Critical Engagements or fates can't happen at the same time or around the same time so it's made to reward people actually trying to do stuff.
Aand the crying about tanks/ healers getting boned is non-sense. Lost actions are a form of horizontal progression like Logos before them. They can MAKE a tank/ healer deal way more dmg with lost actions or a DPS that can tank and hold aggro or cure or shield people.

ANNNND the big thing! Once you're in you can swap to any combat job and boom, you're lvl 80 with all your lvl 80 skills and stats you earned in this zone ... AND LEVEL IT THERE! That's cause there's no Deep Dng this expac and this seems soooo much better! You can actually play around with a job at max level to see if you like it in a zone where you're not one shotting and speed running and make progress with it. So if you don't feel like healing you can pick up your lvl 30 Bard and see how it feels at 80 as you grind.

They have learned sooo much from eureka and more.

Also the mettle system fixing the AFK-Train is a huge step forward.

But what if 90% of the players are afking while the other little 10% is working on making the critical engagement appear ? Doesn't that mean that a lot of people doing nothing will still be selected just to fill the minimum number of players needed ? XD

There was no portal sniping, there was only lazy raiders who did not feel like farming items which gave them their portal.

You originally couldn't get those items without an absurdly long grind. There's a reason they were later nerfed. Regardless, laziness has nothing to do with it. BA required coordination as someone could easily get several people killed through no fault of their own. Hence why NA organized through discord. Most of the people who organized it on NA aren't even raiders. People just want a smooth and efficient run.

Taking a portal when you had no idea what to do in BA and weren't willing to join the discord is absolutely sniping. And frankly, it's a jerk move. "Well, I don't want to join discord!!" Yet you want us to type everything out in chat for your benefit? Who's the lazy one in this scenario? Thankfully, this system has rightfully been abandoned for Bozja. It was never a good idea to begin with.

If an instance is filled with 72 people and only like 8 are trying to spawn something that would only accept lets say ... 24 people then the 64 people who are afk would be wasting their time by sitting there doing nothing as they wait for a 1/4 chance to get one of the remaining 16 spots seeing as the 8 who spawned it would have priority. They can't know how many people are AFK or helping spawn things, for all they know 22 people are helping spawn that thing and they're just waiting there for nothing.

AFK at base works in Eureka because it's a fate system that's open to everyone ... so you CAN wait for a NM to pop and see it on your map and just go there and do it. You can't guarantee you're gonna be picked for fates here though if you afk. so you could be waiting there and just never get lucky.

It depends on how critical engagements are activated. The skirmishes are more like FATEs, so people might be able to "afk" while waiting for a skirmish to spawn. If doing a skirmish is one method to activating a critical engagement, then you might be counted for priority queue.

Then again, that method would apply to everyone if it's like a FATE. If it's like an NM where you have to spawn the skirmish as well, then people might be more irritated at the "afkers."

Possibly. It might also mean that only the 24-person versions spawn rather than the 48-person version. If a at capacity instance only has 2 Full Parties, a 3 person Light Party and 2 Solos spawning stuff, the 51 AFKers may be fighting over 3 slots even though there is enough people in zone to do a 48.

you don't own the portals, anyone has the right to use them, square gave people the option to get quaranteed portals but they did not feel like doing that.
Personally I can't join discord because I don't have any device which can use it.

Neither do you. Except you're then asking those same people who you took a portal from to help you clear. Not exactly hard to imagine why they wouldn't, especially when there's a system setup specifically to mitigate this exact situation.

BA is not exactly hard content. The groups running them do amazing callouts and you can pretty much run everything blind without dying. I still don't like eureka and will most likely not like this content either.

Yeah, I'll probably start doing a bit of this to get my last combat jobs leveled. I haven't even started on my paladin at all. My monk, and black mage are on their way. The PoTD/HoH - dungeon grind is soooo boring.. It takes so much out of you. The only good thing about level grind (rather dungeon grind) on tank is you work your way on unlocking the mounts, but even then.. Hopefully the leveling experience here isn't too bad.

I'm just looking forward for there being stuff to do when the patch hits.
