This again... if you dont like it, then dont buy it or play it. Simpe enough. Square is a business. They have money to make and just because other MMOs dont do what they do just means they dont follow SE's business model.
SquareEnix already gives away plenty of things they DONT HAVE TO, like this Yokai watch event, or Nier, or Monster Hunter, or any of the myriad FF crossovers.
The cash shop is fine. If you dont want to pay extra you dont have to! If you want the emote then buy the statue and resell it or something.

They are making money with your sub fee. Then selling you an item that belongs in the game which you are paying them to create just to put on the shop instead of putting it in the game you spent your money on.

The cash shop isn't new and yeah it would be great to have nothing but in game items but that's not the way the company works or other companies for that matter now. Frankly they take advantage of us and make money doing things this way.

I have a slew of alts and most stuff isn't account wide. Should it be? Well I wish it was but there's a lot I simply do without. It's not the end of the world.

And relative to the sub fee it's not gone up since i started playing FFXIV over 6 years ago. The cash shop helps keep that sub fee low given the extra money is put back into the game.

I don't have to own everything, and it's not the end of the world, but speaking up against it is better than just sitting idle and not saying anything. I have been doing that for a while now, not saying anything. I do think you should be able to acquire everything in-game. Yes, I think mounts should be account-wide ofc. They do it for some of the mounts why not all. My problem with it is basically this. We are investing in a game where we are paying it money to create a product for us, the consumers, with our subs. If I gave money to a person with the intent to invest in an uber like company and they take my money on the condition that they are going to allow me to use this service with all the bells and whistles included for the locked-in price of etc. Then years they say sir you are only going to get 80% of the product now and we will sell you the rest of the service or 20%. Then they also say if you want to ride in that car you have to stay in our 5-star villa for $1000 a night. Which like you said they take advantage of us so I mean I am sure you get it, but why are we not trying to get it back. Why say nothing, do nothing. Idk I am getting the general consensus is who cares and w/e so now is just about my action. After this many replies, I can see how this is post will likely go till it fizzles out. A few games are offering this kind of promise in the future so hopefully, it's true and at least get a few years out of them. Like I said I wanted to get the community feelings. I apologize cause I am never on here and this kind of post has apparently been thrown around a few times. Its been years, I think arr beta, since I have posted here.

I do not agree. You are not entitled to an item that was made specifically for mogstation, or even an emote added to some figurine. These were created for the specific purpose of being sold in this way, in the case of the mogstation they have an entire team that creates items specifically for it. Our subscription pays for what we get in-game, the update we are getting soon for instance. Remove the mogstation, these items would not exist. That's the give and take.

Just because you don't have them yet doesn't mean you won't. The community does want those things and they will get them. Even if that is true, which I doubt, that still takes into account a 2nd cash flow. Turn that off and subs are the only money. Cash shops are very sporadic and over high revenue on some months and very low on others. That is why I doubt that the cash shop funds the game while they siphon money elsewhere. It's not a realiable income.

No those items wouldn't be in the game. Those items were only made because of the cashshop. No cashshop no items made for it. Again... the only reason they exist is BECAUSE the store is here. That team that makes them wouldn't be a team making anything if the store wasn't here. Your sub is only here to let you into the game. It is in no way paying for you to have items made to be sold.

The item would not ever be "in game" at all if it were not a cash shop item. Those items are created by a different business unit, generally for a market that does not pay a subscription fee to play FFXIV.
