I want one wall to be a weapon rack to display all my Blue Weapons (Darkhold, Ifrit, Moogle)

I want one wall to have shelves and head models to display all the seasonal hats (Rabbit Kabuto x3, Easter Egg Hat x5, Pumpkin x4, Dragon Kabuto x4)

And I would like full manqueins or dress forms to display all the "Sets" (Santa Christmas Suit 3 piece, Reindeer Christmas Suit 2 piece, Onion set 3/4/5 piece, Harlqeuin, Buccaneer, Templar set 4 piece etc)

    I'd like to see

Craftable Weapon racks and manequins for storing armour and weapons on.

Craftable chests of various sizes for extra storage space.

    Craftable crafting benches etc

Craftable furniture that we can /sit on, picture frames is a nice idea.

Of the ideas mentioned here, the ones I like the most are these:

    - Ability to interact with furniture (at LEAST /sit on a chair/bench)
    - Personal retainer bell
    - Varying architecture options
    - Anything that allows greater customization

It would be nice if I could invite my linkshell mates and other friends over to see my place. What good is customization if we can't show it off?

Just to clarify any confusion about the differences between private rooms (like the inns in 1.21) and personal housing, I wanted to share a few details on the two. Personal housing and inns are completely separate entities and inns will not turn into housing in the future.

Inns are private areas, but you don’t own them, so you are not able to add furniture, etc. In the housing that is planned for 2.0, players will be able to customize many aspects of their housing including furniture, but it will be difficult for players to be able to own a home. Due to the difficulty of obtaining a house, we will be preparing inns as private areas for players to use until they own their own home.

We will be providing more details about inns soon, so hang on a bit for that announcement.

Well, that's a bit sad. You'd think given the fact that the free company-locked, difficult to obtain 'proper houses' having gardens and (possibly)basements and customisable exteriors and all, the private inn rooms would at least have some limited interior customisability.

If only because it'd help players 'aren't in a position to have a proper house not feel entirely left out, and give a smooth path into the housing system proper.

Sure, limit the customisability; they are only rented spaces. It's even understandable not being able to allow customisation prior to the implementation of the rest of the housing system. But still, even inns in-real allow a little flexibility, even if only putting pictures or decorations on the bed-side table or bringing your own bedding.

Absolutely no customisability whatsoever comes off as a smidge lazy - especially if it's going to turn out only one player can enter a private room at a time. You really don't want to blunder into the same territory as Mabinogi did: "Nice housing system. 'Shame only the three richest guilds on the server get to see it."

Well, a private room is just a rented property/service; like a motel/hotel room, you can't exactly redecorate and add chairs and stuff. It's not lazy as much as...realistic?

Please define difficult sir... Something harder than having it handed to us after talking to an NPC? Like having to annihilate a crowd of level 1 Star Marmots on our Level 50 job? Or something where you actually have to exert ef...eff... effort. That's the word! (Forgot what the word was actually called since you rarely have to use it when playing FF14).

I'm just happy to have a residence now.

Finally a place to bring the ladies from the miners guild to. <(-.O)>

So with that being stated, would definitely need a 'pimp' pad worthy of my Taru pimpness.

An aquarium, water bed, a chandelier, hot tub, opo opo skin run, dim lighting, Barry White etc. etc.

Give me back my catching on others rather than passing through them as if they aren't there, drawing weapons at a believable speed, world entities that behave according to their nature rather than one of two universal ways, monsters that I don't have to be inside to be in striking range of, and bring things back to where Forra's pants don't fly off the second he puts his hand on a scythe, and then we'll talk about realism.

And did you miss the bit where I suggested limiting it to realistic levels? I don't think there's an inn on the planet would really go, "NO, YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT PHOTO OF YOUR FAMILY ON THE BEDSIDE TABLE!" and allowing little adjustments such as that would be a nice way to tell lower level players, "No, you're not being deliberately shafted because you're not in an uber-rich endgame guild. There's just a lot more to look forward to."
