I would hope at this point that more of what we get are traits that improve existing skills rather than make the low level toolkit even more barren than it currently is.

I mean, i've a sh*tload of unused slots in my crosshotbars so i won't really mind having more buttons to press. About Traits, yeah, that should at least be the way instead of just making old content a joke by having 5 buttons to press. If giving 5 skills to each Job in each expansion is sooooo important for them, then it would be nice if at least 3 of then are an upgraded version of a old skills. That way the amount of skills increases, but not by a lot.

I was actually thinking that maybe they could reintroduce the old class skills to classes and low level jobs, then once there's a new skill, that active skill would become a trait instead.

    Let's take Rogue for example:

Rogue will have Kiss of the Wasp back as an active that increases phys damage to 5%. You had to activate it in order to boost dps.
Then later down the line, you'd have a trait that would upgrade it to Kiss of the Viper, which would increase phys damage to 10%.

Once you get to Ninja however, Kiss of the Viper will become a passive Trait, implying that your weapons "are always coated with venom", so you don't have to coat it again and again. The trait would always boost your phys damage to 10%.

This would possibly give a lot more active buttons to the older jobs/classes, improve job identity and lore, and possibly fix combat gameplay at low levels.

I have two hotbars full, and that's all I want, juggling three or more hotbars caused me to make too many mistakes and lose track of what skills I was using when I pressed a button. So I think that's part of why they wanted to keep from having too many skills. Though to be fair, this does change job to job. Some jobs could do with having more skills added without pruning any, while others have a lot of skills to start with, so adding skills will mean some need to be removed just to keep the job from being too complicated.
