As long as they're actually new/upgraded skills and not a removed one given a paint job (I'm looking at you, Temperance)
They need to remove skills in order to keep you from having too many buttons, though. This was an issue they noticed from the Heavensward to Stormblood transition that they just didn't want players to have to deal with that many.
I would hope at this point that more of what we get are traits that improve existing skills rather than make the low level toolkit even more barren than it currently is.
I mean, i've a sh*tload of unused slots in my crosshotbars so i won't really mind having more buttons to press. About Traits, yeah, that should at least be the way instead of just making old content a joke by having 5 buttons to press. If giving 5 skills to each Job in each expansion is sooooo important for them, then it would be nice if at least 3 of then are an upgraded version of a old skills. That way the amount of skills increases, but not by a lot.

I was actually thinking that maybe they could reintroduce the old class skills to classes and low level jobs, then once there's a new skill, that active skill would become a trait instead.I mean, i've a sh*tload of unused slots in my crosshotbars so i won't really mind having more buttons to press. Let's take Rogue for example:
Rogue will have Kiss of the Wasp back as an active that increases phys damage to 5%. You had to activate it in order to boost dps.
Then later down the line, you'd have a trait that would upgrade it to Kiss of the Viper, which would increase phys damage to 10%.
Once you get to Ninja however, Kiss of the Viper will become a passive Trait, implying that your weapons "are always coated with venom", so you don't have to coat it again and again. The trait would always boost your phys damage to 10%.
This would possibly give a lot more active buttons to the older jobs/classes, improve job identity and lore, and possibly fix combat gameplay at low levels.
I just want them to add back all the abilities they took away from SCH. Take away fey blessing and seraph if you have to, I genuinely don't see the point of them.
Definitely, though probably at the cost / improvement of other skills as people have said.
Still looking forward to shield lob turning into chucking a holy spear like lightning spear in Dark Souls, a bit like what Haurchefant ate for breakfast. Maybe turning Shield Bash into something less redundant than having two different stuns thanks to cross class skills, one I hardly ever get to use since it kills combos and isn't ogcd. Stuff like SMN's non-primal related spells becoming primal infused (burn instead of bio, etc).
It would help a lot to take a look at the character growth too to make sure old content isn't stripped down more bare, and perhaps made more exciting if possible. Like all the changes that they might find to make a job exciting doesn't need to be invented at the tail end.
I have two hotbars full, and that's all I want, juggling three or more hotbars caused me to make too many mistakes and lose track of what skills I was using when I pressed a button. So I think that's part of why they wanted to keep from having too many skills. Though to be fair, this does change job to job. Some jobs could do with having more skills added without pruning any, while others have a lot of skills to start with, so adding skills will mean some need to be removed just to keep the job from being too complicated.I mean, i've a sh*tload of unused slots in my crosshotbars so i won't really mind having more buttons to press. There are a lot of old abilities (mostly buffs) that have subpar animations compared to current day abilities. I hope those get attention before new abilities are added. Like look at Bloodletter on ARC, unchanged all this time. I hope it gets upgraded to look like some sort of song.

Most likely.
I've been wondering if there's anything they could do for jobs without adding/subtracting skills... but I couldn't come up with anything.

We Will get new Skills and changes for every job. Happens every expansion.
At most, Im sure healers (Mostly Scholar and Astrologian) will get adjustments.
Ast will get potency buffs more then likely, and the cards might get changed again.
Sch will possibly get its dps back. But if anything, I just want the ability to control the Faerie Again. I miss Dual Casting
Wht I feel like is in the best spot and might get nerfed. I just miss Areo3 T_T.
