I have been playing this game since very shortly after launch. You might notice that I have Gladiator at level 44. None of my classes are at 50. This is by choice; I want my leveling to be slow. I use Guardian's Aspect sometimes when I want to level faster for whatever reason, like perhaps a story quest is coming up next level, or because I simply feel like it that day. I'll skip over it completely on other days.

If it works like WoW, I will no longer be able to choose. Not only when I want to use faster leveling, but for what as well. I will have to choose to play what class I want to level faster first.

If they make it possible to choose when and to which class you use this rested xp, I would be fine with this change.
Remember that acquiring this bonus is tied to logging off at your house. At the very least you can avoid this by simply logging off outside. (people ARE forgetting this detail left and right, now just you)

I didn't forget the detail. I might be doing just that at times. However, not only does that seem a little unfair to have to do (as I have been looking forward to housing like most), as I pointed out, I do want to use it sometimes.

But more to the point than my own personal thoughts on this, is that it's true that (unless Yoshi-P is already making provisions for this) the xp bonus will cause some people to have choose a certain class first. What if you do want to use it for crafting, but you logged on to battle first and craft later? Or maybe you want to level your lancer, but your party needs you to play healer. Or even, you log in to play your level 50, and you decide later to level a class.

In other games, rested xp works because one character is one class anyway, but in this game, one character is everything. Being able to choose which class you want to use it for, and when, I think is important.

Well... Truth to the told i'm kind of expecting it to work like it does on City of Heroes. There depending on time spent logged off you get Patrol XP. So you have, say, 3000 Patrol XP. So the next real XP you get has a 1.5 multiplier until you 'use up' all of those 3000 Patrol XP.
If it works like that, those rest bonus here would probably be applied to whatever XP you earn (though it would likely be wasted on a 50 class unless you do not actually earn XP when you reach that point, I'm not that far in this game) in whatever order you earn it.
