Im actually not against this look, The fur patches are a little weird to me, but overall a pretty decent look.

I'm not sure why everyone is on this boys can't be pretty train because its the same as cat boys. It was just a cute image and wanted to share.

As for this image. I really like it but it just looks like an au ra with bunny ears and facial hair instead of scales. This doesn't make it bad but its the same logic as your comment. I really hope we can get both looks like the elves and keep them at the same height.

I found this great male viera. He definitely has the youthful face but I love the tattoos. The artist is steelclackers on tumblr.

This design has absolutely no ground in xiv's artstyle and would never make it into the game!
No one has nipples in xiv. :P

I kinda want a mix of looks tbh. Cute, old, rugged with options for facial hair (So I can remove them as I don't like facial hair) I really don't want the Short Tubby thing for Male Viera because I just don't think it makes sense for a race to be like that.

BUT I do understand why some people would like that Aesthetic - I just don't think its fits Viera (Sorry!)

As for them looking like Miqo'te with longer ears... I think that could be an argument regardless of what they do as for all purposes, they are both humanoids with animalistic features. I think the caveat for difference comes in the ear placement, head and nose shape. All of which can be done to make a very very different looking race while still containing parallels.

I mean you wouldn't look at a female Viera and mistake them for a female Miqo'te with long ears.

Yeah, I mean I slap dashed this together in like 15 minutes while at work so...not the greatest thought put into it.

I think for me, theres a difference between pretty and beautiful. I think the 'pretty look' that I see tends to have the boys be a lot more effeminate and soft and fleshy. Muscle definition is indicated but overall minimal outside of the pecks.

Beautiful men can still have the firmer more rugged look but in a, I dunno how you would put it, refined or clean cut way. I dunno. As I said, I think the art is great overall, but its that style I see from time to time when males are drawn as..plushy. It's not my favorite when it comes to pretty men I guess.

Then again, maybe were all getting ahead of ourselves. Perhaps there was something to that dimorphic argument where itd be cool if we had short bunny men way back around page who-knows-what.

Maybe this is the future of Viera in the FFXIV.

You put more then enough thought into it for a little quick sketch.
The fur patches are actually part of the appeal, no other race has that, everything together paints a good image of a forest protector and is something I'd be for if we were to ever get Male Viera
