And I gotta say, as much as I love Monk my fingers begin to hurt after too long sessions xD...

BLM feels very slow and static when I play it now too, it sorta made me realize how slow they really are when I switched over again.

Edit: Btw, in regards to your carpal tunnel issue.
I'd consider my keybindings carefully too.
I can feel it in my wrists sometimes after long sessions when I have to hold shift for too long.
idk anymore this really puts me off from able to progress through any contents now since hurts my head big time yet some fights requires to move constently (MCH/BRD has it easy and dnc) since can dps and move but i dont wanna be dancer cause TOO many >.<

Don't worry about what other people play. People play dancer because they like it. It is a fun job and aesthetically people like it too.

I know this thread has been about which job has the lowest APM, but if you prefer one job over another don't force yourself to change to one you don't like as much.

And there's also other things to consider other than the job. I haven't looked into each reply so I don't know if any of this has been touched upon, but your mouse and keyboard and your in game keybinds can be key to improving the ergonomics of your setup. Like, I don't know if you use an MMO mouse or not, but having the 9+ buttons on the mouse help a lot from what some of my friends say (I personally use a controller even though I'm on PC). Or if you prefer a normal mouse, Asus recently released their Chakram mouse which has an analog stick on the side, which may be something to consider if you like all your actions on the keyboard since it can free up WASD for more actions. And ESDF is a popular replacement keybinding for movement, feels more natural for some people if you haven't tried movement with those keys.

And as for keybinds, when I played around with M/KB, I found the default setup to be unintuitive. I don't really have any suggestions in this regard, as I said I play on controller. I'm sure you have adjusted it to what's comfortable for you, but perhaps playing around with your key bindings more or changing some peripherals will let you disregard the APM of a job.

The fact is, lowest APM jobs are:
    1. White mage
    2. Black mage
    3. Warrior
    4. Schoolar
    Thats it.

Most of the dps jobs are engaging and fast, require much more from you than a typical healer job (astrologian excluded because its just a clutter).
Machinist usually has over 40 APM, so does ninja, he is on the faster side of spectrum.

Just play what you feel you like the most, carpal tunnel syndrome could be fought in different ways, like adjusting your playing space, buying lighter mouse etc, im pretty sure you should find out what makes it better for you irl than trying to fight the game with it, because no matter what job you are going to play, you Carpal tunnel is going to get worse anywhat if you keep playing the way you are playing right now.

The good thing about BLM is that you should be minimizing your movement to begin with .
If you have to move a lot then you're kinda just playing BLM wrong, but on the other hand you need to learn the mechanics well and be good at positioning. But that's something you can practice.

I get what you're saying about Dancer, I used to care a lot about this and play less played classes in MMO's.
But nowadays I don't really care and just play what I want.

I'll note that when people are saying APM here they're actually referring to Casts Per Minute which is the number of Weaponskills and Abilities they will use in a minute, while that's accurate for most jobs the Melee will all be slightly or much higher than the CPM suggests because of positionals. In a vacuum a Monk will reposition around 14-15 times in a minute to hit positionals which absolutely are actions/inputs even if they aren't being tracked as casts just as an example. That will obviously vary based on True North uptime(and Earth's Reply if you're a Monk), but even in the best circumstances you'll only eliminate 1-2 repositionings for non Monk melee with a True North useage, and Monk's useage is circumstantial to the fight (Best case Scenario is E2S where it has around 55% uptime at best, so still 7 additional "actions" as it were over the course of a fight).

But yeah Black Mage is definitely going to be the slowest of the DPS in terms of buttons pressed per minute.

Both of them sacrifice some damage for utility but Dancer sacrifices more damage but buffs the party damage to make up for it.
RDM gets a ress and healing instead and a smaller dps buff.
Altho you won't be healing, there's very few situations where throwing a heal might be useful mostly it's just the ress people want.

I also was looking into Dragoon since it was suggested by Yoshida though

I wouldn't rule healing out entirely. WhM is a very relaxed class to play once you get the basics down. You could level it via Squadrons and Trusts to get a feel for it without grouping and in 8 man content at 80 you have a co-healer to back you up. I have anxiety myself, but healing ended up being my main role.

If it helps any you can practise with friends. I had horrible tank anxiety when I started FFXIV... Now tanking is something I do to relax. If you start with low level duties, tell people you are new to tanking or healing, most players are pretty reasonable. We're both on Primal so you can always poke me. I am a tank main though don't mind healing, if you want someone to play with that will foster an environment more conducive to learning at a pace you are comfortable with.

If environment won't help with coping with anxiety then I guess that's fair enough, though I think it cuts us off from a breadth of experiences that are like nothing else. Especially since we are probably getting another healer next expansion.
