Oh awesome! Which ones and what's your role?I actually do work on MMOs, and I actually do see the marketing data. I know how the whole process goes down, and I know what does and does not work.
The simple fact of the matter is that when you make an MMO to easy, people get bored and quit. Why do you think this game gets a week long population spike at every patch. It's not because they just want to see what got put in. It's because they do everything and stop playing. If you didn't notice, the largest drop in this games population, besides launch, occurred when PLing became rampant. It wasn't because people hated the PLing, it was because they finished everything in the game so fast they no longer had a reason to play.
The type of people drawn to these kind of games are the type seeking a long in depth game. Yes, that may not be you, but that makes you the minority. Just like people who play to do Large End game Raids are the minority. That is just how this genre works. Most people play the middle of the game forever. That's how you make money.
