Besides: The Shadowbringers beast tribes are not completed yet - who knows, we might get a Pixie-themed glamour once we're bloodsworn.

No, I'm just talking about effort. It's really weird to have this stuff launch on a cash shop for a game with a base purchase price and two subscription models when your most recent patch was half-baked

I was quite happy with the last patch /shrug - lots of stuff to do and lots of cool new items to earn for me in game. Good quality content, fun fights, some intresting crafter-puzzles... I take a good quality patch over a large quantity one (as I take a good quality relic-quest over a long, but unisnpired and boring grind)
The mogstation isnt weird to me - even though I dont like it and hardly buy anything - since I know that thats how they make enough money to deliver their content and keep subscriptions where they are, allowing those who want a little extra to pay a little extra and keep costs low(er) for everyone.
And again: mogstation development isnt taking anything away from actual game development. Even if this glamour set wouldnt be on the mogstation we wouldnt get more ingame content.

Oh, one thing I forgot earlier: We got umbrellas this patch! Something people have been requesting for a while now (I recall the question being asked at the german FanFest about... 3 years ago now?) - back then it sounded like they might only be possible on the mogstation but here we are... getting them in game.

The dalmascan set is one of the best looking glamour sets they've added into the game....on females. It's pretty disingenuous to post the set on a male character when it's plain as day that a lot of glamours look atrocious on them, including that one. The top especially looks gorgeous and goes with a ton of great glamours. To each their own I guess.

Yeah the chest piece from that set is pretty much one of my favorites, and I don't even have it yet because my maps have been extraordinarily stingy and I'm not dropping the 6+ mil the set would've cost me last time I checked.

The majority of my favorite glams are all in game outfits. A lot of the mog ones are great, and I absolutely love the little dress (forget what it's called, the one with the metallic skirt and the red bag across the body), and I use the chest and shoes all the time, but there are some sets where I only ever use like one piece of it anyway. Like the uh... outfit with the huge bow on the back. I almost exclusively use the boots from that now lmao. Only because they're just a plain simple black boot, which there don't seem to be many of in game - at least for female characters anyway.

So, i really face palmed at this retort and even more at the "Upvotes".

First off, actual "Smart" people would realize paying the sub is for a multitude of reasons. Such as keeping the servers running, maintenance, content, paying employee's, etc. You're talking about a Triple "A" MMO that is literally the best MMO out there right now. Also these mounts, outfits, etc., that they have in the mogstation are not "In the game" technically speaking. Or else you would be able to obtain them in-game other than the mogstation. They are "Optional Items' as is stated on the mogstation. Everything is purely cosmetic and "Optional". And i don't care but i'm going to say it - You don't need to buy them, it's optional. They give us other free seasonal items throughout the year and now you want to complain because they add something else to the mogstation that you want for free but can't get and you're mad. Get out of here.

I'm just hear to read all the excuses people are going to make for having a cash shop in a buy to play mmo with a monthly sub that even requires you to buy extra storage because they refuse offer the basic functionality other games provide like shared storage between characters all while providing us with consistently less content.

And let's not forget how it is then followed by the personal offense they are taking from having actual legitimate criticism about the game and/or business practices of their favorite game/company. Instead of engaging in actual discourse about the subject.

How many times do you wish that people in real life don't have things you want because you don't want to pay the cost to have them?

TL;DR: I don't mind waiting and working toward an item I really want because that's what's motivating me in the first place. But if it ever reachs the point where all the things I want are only sold in the mog station, I would be quitting the game because then I have no goals left in it other then throwing real money at an item-shop.

To more or less rehash what I said in the other recent thread:

1) Your sub gives you access to play the game. That's all you're entitled to when you pay.
2) DLC content is funded mostly by DLC content. If they didn't have DLC content, this particular item would simply not exist. They don't specifically make a variety of gear, filter some out for DLC shop and some for in game drops.
3) I have seen much more unreasonable pricing/RNG schemes on other games. I would agree it is a bit too expensive for my tastes, but at the end of the day $18 is a coffee and a book, a couple of drinks or a quick lunch at McD's with the misses.

Just as interesting as people complaining about a "Cash Shop" that sells purely cosmetic/optional items that you don't have to buy AT ALL and then crying about how they should get it all for free because they pay a monthly sub. As for your "excuses", FFXIV doesn't need one technically. However since SE want's to make more $ on the side, they do it. Next, most other MMO's have limited bank space which can be expanded by buying extra storage as well. It just varies. FFXIV took the money route instead of the in-game money route. However, this can be worked around by making alts for bank storage, like you know, how it was done before in previous MMO's.
