Yes, I have to agree with this as well; stuff like this that are not NPC costumes should be in game rewards.Because costumes didn't use to be an extra charge in games. All this stuff used to be included with the purchase. Now it's put off to the side as "microtransactions". (If you can call $18 "micro", I sure don't.)
The reason this BS exists is because people accepted it as "the new normal".
This is a BS excuse for price gouging, double dipping and all the other crappy things involving cosmetics that have become industry standard thanks to an industry that's run by unscrupulous marketing executives.I'd call that a new record...
Honestly guys, the mogstation items aren't the end all be all to this game. They're vanity items and harmless. As someone else has said or quite a few other have said, when the mog station items become needed to win the game or give the edge over someone in terms of battle then go up in arms. (I for one am still not thrilled with the level skip things but guess what I don't buy them.) Also the outfit doesnt look all that great in my opinion.

*slow clap* they are not double dipping. Se is not
"obtain an income from two different sources, typically in an illicit way"
Illicit definition: forbidden by law, rules, or custom.
Again it is not pay to win and again harmless... they are called OPTIONAL
Now optional means: available to be chosen but not obligatory.
Please learn to differentiate between them. Also they are not being unscrupulous as in the terms of the definition
having or showing no moral principles; not honest or fair.
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
It is neither honest nor fair. It's straight up price gouging and full-on anti-consumerism. It's not harmless and it is not simply excused because it's not pay to win.*slow clap* they are not double dipping. Se is not

The P2W argument for saying cosmetics are okay is the epitome of a bad argument. Here I have two bad things. This one is more bad than the other one, but if we get rid of the worst bad thing, it makes the lesser bad thing okay.
Congratulations, you've been officially duped.

Theres nothing new about it. This happened a long time ago with the Sparkle Pony in WoW...in 2010.Because costumes didn't use to be an extra charge in games. All this stuff used to be included with the purchase. Now it's put off to the side as "microtransactions". (If you can call $18 "micro", I sure don't.)

That mount was 25 Dollars like the majority of their mounts. It's a service/vanity item that people want and a successful model for the past 10 years.

In your eyes I'm being duped but in mine it's called I have options. I barely buy from the mogstation BTW. I have I've bought 4 things most from it? A couple of emotes and one of thanceeds outfits. ( All the other things if you've checked my lodestone page in mounts and minions where gifts given to me ie birthday or because people owed me money for things.)
Again optional items are optional. Your world will not end if you dont buy them. The money that is used from there goes directly back into the game. People use our subs saying that goes directly back into the game. It does not it goes to this game and ALL games developed by se. It goes to their employee's pay checks it goes to their electric bill, water bill, sewage bill, everything just as all games do.
This arguement is getting old very very quickly and is beating a dead horse that's thrice over dead.

So how long is this doomsday tantrum gonna last this time? 30 pages? 50? Yes, it's a tantrum. And every time it is thrown, it will die to be reborn with the next insignificant commodity. There is no advantage to having it, just like a bikini or minion. It's fine.
Because last I checked, from the poo flinging of all the other threads, XIV still isn't going under nor all the people complaining actually leaving.
It's getting old because you can't justify price gouging and so you don't even try. Instead you tell me there's something wrong with me for not wanting to pay extra for something that should already be in the game that I paid for and pay a monthly fee on top of.In your eyes I'm being duped but in mine it's called I have options. So you nailed down the point when all this garbage started. How does this make it an acceptable business practice?

Because it was never intended to be in the game? The Mog Station art team is separate from the FF14 dev team and Yoshida has no control over them. He has to literally set up meetings to consult with them if he even needs anything. It was never going to be in the game. It isn't cut content that they nefariously cackled over as they sliced it out of your hands.

They have a fancy OPTIONAL item
A player wants it
Buys it.
Happy company. Happy player
It isnt more complicated than that.
