Entitled whiners or white knighting whales. We can come up with better.
Ooooor just stop the labeling as it really does nothing for the conversation.

Only took six hours for the thread to devolve I see...

Well if that is the case I apologize for my reaction. Unfortunately, it's impossible for me to tell for certain online when someone is posting in all caps and there is nothing to suggest that it was sarcasm. There is no "/s" or whatever to denote it a such.... Wut?
I thought it was clear that that person was mocking people like the OP, showing how even if the only things on the mog station were potions SOMEONE would still find issue with it ("I THINK YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET THEM IN GAME! Dissagree? You're just a shill, but I guess you gotta protect this "small indie" right?!?" is very much the thought process people are running with when they whine about this stuff)
Anyway, as for the topic, this is stupid.
So what ... the Mog Station can't sell anything remotely relayed to in game lands/ locations/ lore cause then "wHy cAn'T I geT tHiS fRoM iN GAME coNteNt!?!?"? WTF is yall problem? :/
Were people doing this when we were in NOT Japan in the story and the Mog Station suddenly had ... a lot of Japanese and eastern themed glams?
I could see if the ONLY new glams were stuff you had to buy. Would tots suck if I had to spend real money on "The Nier Pack" to get a line up of glam based on Nier and got nothing from doing the 24 men raid other than tomes and copied gear from SB. But no, that's not the case ... we get mog station glam and mounts like once a blue moon were as every big in game up-date gives us tons of new goods.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will NEVER be a fan of cash shops for P2P games ... but that being said FF14 does it the best with the most honest and up front model I've seen. I have nothing to b&m about with the cash shop.

If that is the argument you are making then let us shift the analogy a bit. Multiple Zoos and Aquariums give you the option to enhance your visit by feeding the animals, and some times even swimming with them or being in the pen with them. Ah but here's the thing, these enhancements are not included in the base price of the ticket. You have to pay for them, and often times these costs can equal and even surpass the price of a ticket. Are you going to sit there and rage and demand to be allowed to swim with the sting rays because you bought your entry since this would make your visit better? (I don't doubt for a second someone actually would, but I am going with people being reasonable). No, then why is this any different? In fact the mog station exists for the same reason those options in Zoos and Aquariums to exist, to draw in more funding specifically for that activity that is not being claimed by something else first. The zoo example is not in any way shape or form a valid comparison since buying a tacky t-shirt from a gift shop is not meant to enhance the experience of going to the zoo. It's meant to be purchased as memorabilia of your trip to the zoo. Glamour speficially enhances my gameplay and is a major part of the reason I play FFXIV. This means I'm being asked to pay twice. Three times really if you consider the entry cost before the monthly fee.
I think it's funny though that you reduce my argument to an ad hominem after that was already used on me multiple times with people calling me "entitled". Which makes no sense at all.
If anyone from the NA office is reading this, please advise Square Enix to categorize these brand new items differently.
Brand new
chinese
korean
NPC
This would help calm people down when they see a Brand new glam our mount that costs $18+. It would be a good marketing strategy change they should consider. Don't leave it to people to figure out why it costs $18 and instead make it clear why by categorizing it appropriately. We mostly get NPC glamours so that's why they cost $10-$15.
The reason a lot of people have pitchforks ready is because of how unclear it is to people. They have real life to deal with so they don't normally keep track of what's an NPC outfit as opposed to something brand new. Specially when you have event glamours thrown into the mix of all that.

I'd call that a new record...
Honestly guys, the mogstation items aren't the end all be all to this game. They're vanity items and harmless. As someone else has said or quite a few other have said, when the mog station items become needed to win the game or give the edge over someone in terms of battle then go up in arms. (I for one am still not thrilled with the level skip things but guess what I don't buy them.) Also the outfit doesnt look all that great in my opinion.
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
Because costumes didn't use to be an extra charge in games. All this stuff used to be included with the purchase. Now it's put off to the side as "microtransactions". (If you can call $18 "micro", I sure don't.)If that is the argument you are making then let us shift the analogy a bit. The reason this BS exists is because people accepted it as "the new normal".

'Enhance the experience' is subjective (most of what youre saying is purely subjective), but fine. Lets go with "Enhancing the Experience" angle and go from a zoo to a baseball stadium. Are you upset because the Dodger Dog and Beer isnt free with your ticket purchase. Afterall, having a cold beer and hot dog is definitely enhancing the experience for a great many people. Or what about popcorn and soda at a movie? How about mickey mouse ears at disneyland so you feel more into it?The zoo example is not in any way shape or form a valid comparison since buying a tacky t-shirt from a gift shop is not meant to enhance the experience of going to the zoo. But if we want to be real cute here about this, If I turn around and say that the glamour does nothing to enhance my experience, does my opinion counteract yours? Afterall, if its about 'enhancing the experience' whos experience are we talking about?
Oh, Im not here to be opposed to points for the sake of it. I believe in what I say, and if you got a pretty solid point, Ill concede. I dont see that yet. Im seeing a lot of hyperbole and opinion and retreading arguments that we pulled apart in the 45 page thread last month or so.
As for calling you entitled, you are taking the position you are entitled to these items because of paying a sub, and cash shops are bad and anti consumer, among other personal opinions you are espousing. Youre not arguing for why you think the cash shop should be taken down because you have decent reason and evidence its hurting the game in some fashion, you're not arguing it's over priced and demonstrating it by providing comparable items in shops of other MMOs, Youre over generalizing when it comes to the implications of cash shops for consumers, among other opinions that youre so sure of.
I havent, on the other hand, said here that I was uber wealthy so I got money to burn, nor have I argued here that anyone can afford it. I also havent said "SE is perfect, and this criticism is stupid!" or anything in that vein of reasoning. Ive my own gripes with SE and this game (Such as Im horribly disappointed with DRK mechanically, or the fact they kept dropping the skill floor). There's plenty to criticize SE for, but owning a cash shop where 80% of its listings are either account related, past events or items you can get in game, this seems annoyingly silly to get worked up for.
But rather than address my points, you instead took issue with me calling you 'entitled' when your position and behavior comes across as such, and retaliate by assuming things without taking a minute to reflect on your position. Alrighty then.
