2) I highly doubt there’s a big enough demand for this glam to warrant the resources it would take to design a boss fight for it to drop.

3) I don’t think you have an understanding about what f2p Korean games offer for sale. They make their money offering stuff like characters, gear, and enhancements to grown the player’s roster. If SE ever tried to offer stuff like real gear with real stats that top what’s already available the community would be out with pitchforks

Just to nitpick, this ain't nothing new, with or without skip books. POTD/HOH allow you to get to 70 without the foggiest idea of how to properly play a job anyway. I already meet enough people at level cap that don't AOE in big pull moments, people ignoring free damage abilities, healers not dpsing, tanks not CDing, etc. A player starting at level 1 or 70 is irrelevant if they have no intention to learn.

Just have it drop in pieces in Titania EX. The content already exists for it. No need to design a new fight.

People do actually regularly complain about the Feast top 100 rewards, but only because they're time exclusive

My take on it, because so many people use the argument "but I pay a sub, I paid for the game".
I paid for the game. I got the game.
I paid a sub for the service the game offers and for regular patch content. I get a service and regular patch content.
I paid for the expansions. I got the expansions.

The devs offer something extra on a cash shop that doesn't impact anything in game and doesn't deprive you of anything and doesn't give you any disadvantage in game?

People complain. Yet to me it's: I want extra vanity stuff. I pay for extra stuff.

I see the comparison to Korean MMOs.
Archeage? Used to sell items that'd give people an advantage.
BDO? Not much variety in vanity items until you get to the cash shop.
FFXIV? Nothing to give you an unfair advantage. Way more vanity items attainable in game than the cash shop. And you have loads of variety without even paying extra. Seriously, for people who love glamour, this game has a fantastic variety of options versus other MMO's I've played without the need to touch your wallet.

Or compare to SW:TOR, actual functionality and features are locked behind a cash shop. You can pay a sub at least to gain it back...and still buy stuff on the cash shop. WoW has a cash shop, which is mostly just vanity stuff too. I seems to be a part of the MMO economy. But I would be interested to see how funds are distributed out of FFXIV. Without knowing that, I'm not inclined to say they're wrong or greedy for having a cash shop to make extra money.

If the store got excessive, then yes, I'd complain, but what we've been seeing added is pretty much the status quo so far. In fairness, some items I think are a tad expensive for what you get. But at the moment, what they offer feel like "extra" stuff to what they offer in game.

If, for example, we suddenly started seeing primal weapons on there, like the ones we've been waiting for on DNC or GNB or new ones for newer trials then I'd be like WTH? And would say "fair enough, I'll complain too". The fact we haven't got them on DNC or GNB is also legitimate complaint.

I mean, yes Titania could have dropped it, if they had a time machine and it had been made back in 5.0, she'd also be the first trial to drop a glam outfit, unless I have a Shiva/Ifrit/other OG primal glam gear that I've somehow blocked from my memory.
Every time this topic is brought up it's always neglected that it's a separate person/team who comes up with and has things made for the sole purpose of being put on the mog store.
This is the first purely trial based glam and had the Mog team not wanted to sell it, it wouldn't even exist.
Unless you subscribe to the theory of "They steal things from being put in the game to sell!" If so, well, you do you.

F2P are often P2W which FFXIV thankfully is not. And that's what you pay your subscription for. To keep it from becoming P2W. That's honestly all I care about.

Is it a bit disheartening when the glam you want needs to be purchased from a cash shop? Sure, but that's kinda the point of a cash shop. A cash shop exclusive is no different from an old event item being on the cash shop for those who started playing after the event was over. So again, don't really see the issue with exclusives.
I don't know. Maybe I'm jaded, but I really don't see the issue with a company providing a subscription service and adding some glam items that have absolutely no incidence on the game into an online shop. I took more offence to the leveling pots tbh.
