If you can only deploy 4 airships/submersibles at once what is the point of building more than 4?

Airships came first, we built 4. Then we got subs. We built 4. Its not like we can retire the airships and get gil, or desynth them for parts.
I send an airship out every now and then, but never two.
There are still valuable crafting materials players want that come only from airships (though one is more seasonal in value). I wouldn't discourage anyone from running an airship if they want to be selling those items.
It would be nice if at least one of the new FC ranks increased voyage limit by one. SE must have some entitlements planned for later release or there would have been no reason to add ranks 21-30.

If they had some entitlements planed for 21 - 30 they would have saved the ranks till then.
There was no reason to add ranks 21-30. I speak as the owner of a R 26 FC.
Or they added them in advance without the entitlements so FCs wouldn't feel pressured to grind all the ranks immediately.
Because you're right. If there are never going to be any entitlements for those ranks then it made no sense to add them in the first place. Therefore they must have some plans for those ranks that haven't been announced yet.
Not sure how FC rank is significant to the discussion but if your'e going to pull the rank card out like it's something special, let me do the same. I'm speaking as the co-owner of a rank 30 FC. We've been at rank 30 a couple of months now.
