But why bother making a Lore excuse or a seperate clan for Males when (player) is always the exception.
It's just unneeded.

Because a lore excuse would be way more interesting then just slapping them in there and saying "They're the Warrior of light, dont ask questions"
Thats Just bloody Lazy
If there won't be excuse, there just won't be male Viera among NPC, or like, 1-2 of them with maybe explaining why these 2 particular folks decided to leave their homeland. Same as we barely see any Duskwight Elezens or Miqo'te in story, same as we barely encountered Auri before reaching Steppes. Female Viera and male Hrothgar didn't invade the areas of Eorzea after their release, either. So far devteam doesn't have the habit of placing an army of supposedly rare species in huge amounts outside of their living area, and I don't see any reason why it should suddenly change with hypothetical release of male Viera.
For players there never will be any "excuse" nor there should be honestly, because our character background is something we determine, and I'm quite sure I remember how Yoshida said that they don't want to give WoL a prescribed backstory because it breaks RP, though I will need to search for a source of that. Making only one option suddenly "you left because", when any other option (including female Viera, btw) isn't restricted in any way is just a weird step to say the least.
Sheesh, a player can go as far as write in their background that their character isn't even from Eorzea and left their homeland because it dissapeared from the existence due to reasons, and now they simply don't have a home. Everything what's happening with player is an RP side already, not world building, and story doesn't interfere with players' RP.
So, its pretty interesting how there is such an outcry and demand for Viera Males to be in the game, but then people shoot down the idea of SE/Yoshi and team putting any effort into their lore, since this "Could" potentially be their first Canon Reveal because they have never canonically been seen by the Player or most of the world. I just find it weird how badly people want them in game, but don't actually care the Race.
So why the demand if you dont actually care about them? Whats so valuable about their existence? lol
Look to the lore of the game.
I mean quite literally worlds are being torn apart. The WoL is some nobody that some giant blue crystal says "waddup homie, i need help".
But the rabbit-men can't understand crystal lady because oonga boonga, grr, forest phone home.
It's not so impossible to keep in line with current lore and be the exception. I mean a giant crystal literally says "bro, all of eorzeuh is in danger. you are the one neo, etc." and we're just over here like "oh, snap. i better hop myself over there or else i can't phone the forest anymore because it won't exist. sucks that i'll be exiled. lol. but i do it for the fam back home."
/sighSo, its pretty interesting how there is such an outcry and demand for Viera Males to be in the game, but then people shoot down the idea of SE/Yoshi and team putting any effort into their lore, since this "Could" potentially be their first Canon Reveal because they have never canonically been seen by the Player or most of the world. Once more, there can be, and most likely would be a lore for them. If there will be any as NPC, there's a very high chance there will be a reason for this - there always was one with rare species until now, and there is no reason why they would suddenly place NPC just for the sake of placing it. But it doesn't mean they need to explain why exactly they are playable. Player's character background is something what is determined by player, not devteam.
Cause people just want a dress up doll or their assumed eye-candy.So, its pretty interesting how there is such an outcry and demand for Viera Males to be in the game, but then people shoot down the idea of SE/Yoshi and team putting any effort into their lore, since this "Could" potentially be their first Canon Reveal because they have never canonically been seen by the Player or most of the world. Tis why when Viera came out I remember seeing so many people whine, going "why are they sooo tall?/ they shoulda made the white ones shorter!/ Where's the bunny tail?" (Hell, I think I've only seen 1 person whine about Viera not having looong skinny claw hands ... cause it's not a pretty feature) cause at the end of the day lots of people like the idea they have in their head more than they care about a fictional race.
I'm 100% sure the devs coulda just made a race of "slightly taller nekos with up-scaled ears, bunny tails and HQ faces+hairs" and most of the player base would be beyond pleased as being an off shoot of nekos would mean hair and hats and more options for neko lovers.
Not to say there's anything wrong with that, people have every right to like and care for the idea or concept of something more than lore or story telling. Like I've said, Races are the most expensive cosmetic option the devs can add to the game ... at the end of the day it's a cosmetic option, players don't have to care about the lore to want "Sexy, stiff elezen dude with bunny ears".

I guess I need to clarify my points a bit further, in case if somebody suddenly decides I don't care about lore, because that's not it. I do care about lore, do roleplaying, and try to avoid oddities in my character's story as much as it's possible. What we need to undesrtand is that there is a line between world building and forced backstory (which we didn't have up to now and, imo, shouldn't to)./sigh

- Our WoL, by default, doesn't have the past. That's something what should be determined by player. That's how this game was built, and there's 0 reason why we suddenly should have a prescribed past for only one option out of all of them.
- There is the world we are playing in. It has lore that explains why something does or does not happen in it. In case with m!Viera there are two most obvious scenarios (right now, at least):
- Lore writers decide that they want m!Viera wandering around the world in a handful amount and write their lore accordinly to explain, why a lot of them suddenly left their Forest.
- Lore writers decide that they don't want m!Viera wandering around the world, write their lore accordingly, and as result we either don't see them among NPC at all, or see them couple of times, with some explanation as to why these 2 folks left their home.
- With point 1 and 2 being combined, we have a character without the past and info about the world that was written by developer. Based on that, the player builds their character. The reason why a certain playable character decided to become adventurer and the actual past of this character is something what is decided by its owner, not by SE.
To summarise: SE gives lore about the world. Players use this lore to build their characters' past in the way they personally want it. If they want to say that their characters actually aren't from Eorzea and came from another continent where things works a bit differently - so be it. The world builded by SE is still there and its lore is telling us why we do or don't witness some species and why something happens and something doesn't.
I hope now it's clear what I mean.

Meanwhile, I find it weird how much you're into arguing about possible lore yet ignore the relatively logical reason for wood-leaving I wrote before.
Is it too boring for you when rabbit-boys would roam the world as a result to their forest being destroyed / lumbered by Garleans or whoever?
your ideas are not so much being shot down its more so just being questionedSo, its pretty interesting how there is such an outcry and demand for Viera Males to be in the game, but then people shoot down the idea of SE/Yoshi and team putting any effort into their lore, since this "Could" potentially be their first Canon Reveal because they have never canonically been seen by the Player or most of the world. if they add male viera NPC to city and stuff sure there would be some flavor text to accommodate it but if its just to the players nothing really needs to be added that isnt already associated with the females,
like people are not gonna be against it but its not required.
