Most of their game is done in Japan where lockdown is not in place and situation is under control, unless it changed to worse.
I mean...
"Here in Tokyo, where the FFXIV team is located, a state of emergency has been declared, and we have been ordered to take preventative measures to curb further spread of the virus." - to quote from the lodestone-post
This doesnt sound like the virus has no effect on/in japan and/or on the development, like you seem to be implying...?
Wise decision!
Peoples health > game, always.
No need to apologize for anything.
It is good they did address it, for those who may have been wondering.
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
Very understandable and very necessary. I hope they stay safe and well!
As someone else said, they didn't even need to apologize.

Not an issue, understandable. I will continue playing to support the team, but understandable if people unsub (since the housing timers are suspended). Maybe I can get some people together willing to unsync some Savage fights that have mounts I didn't get.
Japan actually never took it seriously like other countries did until now with social distancing. Now Tokyo is a hotbed.
I'm glad to hear the devs don't pull a Gamestop-maneuver and rather behave responsibly.
->There's no worth in keeping the stern schedule up when people would have to pay for that with their health (or even lives).
Your health and safety is more important or we wouldnt have a FFXIV...
Stay safe, Stay healthy. I Wish the dev teams the best of luck!
I fully understand and support their decision. Health and safety first.
...that being said this might be a good time to take a break, given that this kind of confirms that we're not getting any more content for the next ~3 months, and house demolishment is on hold.
Which given that they have a population of 33-37 million for the Greater Tokyo Area and a population density of 12,296-16,121.8 per square mile depending upon which statistic one happens to be using is tremendously worrying. Some wards aren't that densely packed, but others are an infectious disease specialist's worst nightmare in terms of how closely packed people end up being with one another. SE is absolutely right to shut things down right now because things are going to get bad, quickly. Not an issue, understandable. I will continue playing to support the team, but understandable if people unsub (since the housing timers are suspended). Maybe I can get some people together willing to unsync some Savage fights that have mounts I didn't get.
