Development Officially Delayed due to COVID-19

A tweet has just come out on the official FF14 Twitter

Please read the entire message at the Lodestone link above, but here's the relevant bit for those who just want the quick and dirty:
"Though it is clear that patch 5.3, which was planned for mid-June, will be delayed because of the above, we are at this time undecided as to whether it will be feasible to limit the delay to two or three weeks, or if it will be closer to a month.

We are terribly sorry for the disappointment this may cause our players, as we know you look forward to new patches. However, it is also important to prioritize the physical and mental health of our development team, without whom we would never be able to release the quality updates and features you expect from FFXIV, so we ask for your understanding as we adjust our schedule in accordance with the situation."

It's absolutely understandable and I applaud SE for taking this situation seriously and not putting their development team at risk just to push the patch out on time. Besides if it's only a month's delay then that isn't anything to really get mad over at all, particularly when it could have been justifiably much longer given how their entire work process has been disrupted.

Wasn't going to start the Skysteel tools, though it could be upwards of four months for 5.3, so now is a good time as any!
