Glamour Log please. Just want to play the game...

The thing is, wardrobe in WoW serves not only as chest for your armor, but also an atlasloot, where you could find and preview desirable piece of equipment and also see where you can get it.
It's 3rd expansion for XIV, and we have so many armor pieces, especially in dungeons that people dont even know exists, I think it's time to implement armory in some form, because bank aka glamour dresser dont do the work.

Glam dresser needs at least double the slots if we don't get a glam log. I throw glam away all the time because I just don't have room. My dresser is full and my retainers are full. I got rid of all my AF gear to make room. I have so many AF coffers in a retainer that I've never opened (I want to but not enough room). And don't get me started on stuff that doesn't fit in the armoire for no reason, or how obnoxious it is to even have to move between the armoire and the dresser to find some items. Send help!

Again expanding the dresser will do nothing to delay the inevitable. Unless the size of the dresser is expanded to be able to hold the same ammount as all pieces of unique gear. Which would be unfeasable with how the items are stored...

And yeeh, it's incredibly frustrating how badly our total storage space is fragmented between inventory, armory, saddlebag, retainer, armoire, calamity salvager and lastly the dresser.

With a log we could pretty much do away with half of those features.

The glam dresser seems like a short term/band aid solution,but in the long run with all these new gear designs coming out, there's simply not enough slots in the dresser to keep up...

This is the same to housing as well whereby there is limited storage space but new furnishings are constantly being released.

Let's hope the devs could do something about this.

The problem is that the technical issues that led them to create all these complicated inventories are probably the same technical issues that stop them from being able to create a theoretically simple alternative like a glamour log. It's a deep-rooted problem that probably needed to be fixed at the design stage, and may not be feasible now without pulling everything apart and starting over.

If that's the case, then they have no idea how to design inventory since at most it should be just a bitmap saying locked/unlocked on the server side, while client side handles the specifics. No pointing towards an actually item.

A glamour log should be no more taxing on the servers than the fishing log.

They managed to give us both the Saddle Bag and glamour dresser, as well as expanding the armoire. Not to mention a lot of other additional systems to the game that takes server space. They should be able to implement something like a glmaour log. Technical issues should not be a stopper but rather only increase the time it takes to implement it.

An example would WoW where the devs explicitly said that it was impossible for them to expand the starter backpack because there was so much backend tied to it that something was bound to break if they did, and some time later they also comes out and announce that they figured it out.

I don't think people really understand just how limited they are with what they can do with this game.

Reborn was built fast and ontop of a nightmare of a game code, lots of new features like umbrellas or new races with unique heads are basically minor miracles.
So yeah, lots of MMOs that came out around that time were made in a way that allows for stuff that's just not doable in this game for w/e reason.

It's why people should hope for a new FF MMO to come sooner rather than later.

From what I've heard, people have debunked the rumor that ARR actually uses code from 1.0. I wish I could find the posts right now, but hopefully someone else will chime in.
