Glamour Log please. Just want to play the game...

Without having to throw away something that took time to collect every single time i log on and every single time i want to play another job.

The Dresser did nothing, it's just a glorified bank.

The Additional retainers costs money and is just messy to find out where you put what.

The Additional inventory slots we got also did nothing but to delay the inevitable.

There are so many logs in this game except for the one thing that matters the most for everyone. Fashion is the endgame in mmos many of which have added various of glamour logs. Yet here we are still using a system that makes you feel punished for having a wide collection of outfits.

A properly made glamour log should also not be any more taxing on the servers than the logs we already have.

I dont see what the problem is with the current system? What do you mean throwing something away each time you log on? Something tells me you're not using the glam dresser properly...

A glamour log would be amazing. With the various storage options, it can definitely feel like they are continually just slapping on bandaids vs. trying to make a single system that will work.

GW2 utilizes a glamour log, and it's great. You can also apply glamours anywhere out in the world. Add in a feature that also lets you save styles (like XI and XIV), and I think that would be fantastic.

XIV feels like a lot of patch-work in how it's been implemented and upgraded over the years. I could be very, very wrong, but I feel like people who enjoy (not just tolerate, but really enjoy) XIV's current glamour systems just haven't experienced games that actually do it well. Hard to know what you're missing out on if you haven't seen it, etc.

The problem with the current system is that you constantly have to think about what you have to throw away because your inventory and dresser and retainers are filled. Something that gets more and more annoying the more you play, and significantly worse for ever additional job you decide to level.

It's not a satisfying feeling having to throw away gear that takes a unknown amount of time to reacquire since it was a random drop from a dungeon.

The glam dresser and inventory expansion is nothing but a band aid fix on this continuous problem. A problem FFXIV's competitors have solved years ago without much hassle. WoW, GW2, ESO in neither of these games to i have to think about having to clean the inventory for outfits every time i log on. In those games i log on, do what i want to do and log off. In FFXIV i log on, try to do something with another job and gets met with "Insufficent armory space", sort the armory, sort the inventory, move things from the inventory back to the armory, get met with "Insufficent armory space" again... and again... and again.

It's a convoluted mess because i can't do something as simple as in GW2, WoW or ESO which is just unlock and discard.

Absolutely agree, current glam system is entirely inadequate. Especially so when practically every job is max level. It has wrecked my inventories--my glam dresser is full, both my retainers are 3/4ths full of glam gear, I hold additional glammable gear in my armory chest, and I have a good amount of other gear in the first tab of my regular inventory. And this in nearly JUST difficult to obtain dungeon/raid gear and relics. Craftable or tome gear? I can't afford the space, so I have to buy it when needed, and discard it first when out of space. Just recently I've had to sacrifice some Bonewicca and Warg gear, since I was struggling with space, and I had to decide which items least fit the aesthetic of the class.

One of my favorite things of this game is playing with the fashion, but each styling session is utterly tedious. You find an awesome hat or chest piece? Now you gotta spend hours in the preview window trying on set pieces first through all items on the MB, then what pieces you have in the dresser and armoire, then what pieces you have tucked away with retainers and armory chest, THEN porting all around the blasted map comparing with tome/raid/class gear. Utter nonsense.

And this is with me ignoring all the lovely gear that crafters and gatherers have, since I've neither the space or the glam plates available for them.

I'll admit that I'm vain, and it pains me to play a class without its proper glam I have set. I love dolling up my character, but holy moly is it a pain to do most times...

Glamour plates are fantastic and save so much time.

Yes, there aren't enough and the system is awkward overall, but that doesn't make the dresser useless. It's a huge improvement on the prism system.

You can enjoy something without it being the best or most streamlined function it could be. There's middle ground between "perfect" and "not good enough".

Of course you can, but that doesn't mean that the system couldn't be greatly improved.

They need to just make it so when you loot something that the appearance is saved to your character so you can sell/desynth/destroy the item. SE keeps insisting on going with these bandaid fixes which only delays the inevitable of eventually running out of space in both your dresser and inventory. Also tired of hearing about how they can't due to "limitations". Just give us a system that isn't terrible.

The problem is there's not enough space in it. My glam dresser is full and I have two retainers almost entirely full of glamour. My armory chest is almost entirely full in every slot but belt. I have the same problem as OP - I regularly have to go through and get rid of things I maybe don't use as often or like as much as something new that I just got. I'm almost constantly shuffling what I'm storing, where I'm storing it, and what I'm getting rid of because there just isn't enough space.

I'm pretty disillusioned with Blizzard at this point, but transmog in WoW is something they, for the most part, got right. A glamour log would solve almost all of my inventory management problems.
