The problem are exactly this 5 words of yours... What i don't like is not the fact that you have to figure out something, but the fact that the link between cause and effect are absurd..
English is not my mother language so i'll make a few example to make myself more clear.
In the last fight of the first SHB dungeon the boss sometimes lift its right arm for a wide right aoe, same goes for left side. This is clear as the sun, you dont have to read a guide for this, or learn by trial and error. If somebody whatches you badly and lift an arm you know that probably he is gonna give you a slap.
Sometimes instead in this game a boss just, dunno, start farting, and you have to guess (i dunno with wich logic assumption) that in a second he's gonna shoot laser from its eyes?!?!
Or dunno, they give you a 5 second buff that is called "nice lilies" and you have to guess that if you are not esuning that you are gonna die. Why cant they call "Imminent death" or something like that?
In italian there is a way of saying: "memoria a pappagallo" that i think it can translate with "Parrot memory", because Parrots can talk but they are not reasonable and intelligents like humans, they just repeat without understanding what they are saying.
In school (fortunately) this type of memory, where you just learn word by word what you read and repeat it, is very criticized..
FFXIV instead of reward reasoning and adaptation, just reward mechanical repetitions of the same things over and over.. maybe it's my problem but i am not good with this types of memory..
Also, and this is not helping.. people in this game are not patient.. i do not learn by watching, i learn by doing.. maybe i should put on a pf with saying that i need to learn the fight when i need to do an extreme/savage..
(sorry i know that i said very different things regarding different matters but i hope i made my points clear xD)

What i meant is that there is a spell locked behind a match that in my opinion has the difficulty of a Savage Content.. At least they should make that when you die in an act you restart from there so you don't have to load uldah, select the fight, then load the fight again and redo also the previous acts T_T
