Well, last night I ran Shinryu normal again. This time I was smart and came on SCH.

First Tidal Wave all but 3 people (PLD, BLM, and me) get yeeted off the platform. DRK tells us to wipe, but I manage to get the whm up and the rest of the party gets rezzed, however there's a booster NIN in the party that just doesn't seem to get anything at all, so they end up dying repeatedly throughout the fight. Minor thing of note: Using Surecast/Arm's Length prevents you from being knocked off during Tidal Wave, and you have to be stupid close to the edge the wave is on otherwise gravity will push you farther than you'd think. If you're a pixel off, you're going for a ride.

Second phase everything is going well until he drops ice onto the arena. I tell myself don't touch anything. My hand that has my mouse, however, has other ideas. I end up glancing both of my mouse buttons, causing me to slide over the platform and only a few members survive. My co-healer dies with me. We had a classic 1% wipe.

The second run through we complete, with several deaths on the ninja's part, because what are mechanics? I ended up leaving with two comms, and I'm fairly certain one of them came from my co-healer.

Sadly he's not anymore they even nerfed the knock back it's not there anymore it used to be one of the most fun fights back in 2.0 when it first came out with the bees and knock backs now it's nothing.

Edit: Nvm the knockback is still there you just can't negate it anymore but still he's a chump.

They nerfed the one I'm referring to as well(I think the reduced the waves of moves, or lowered HP), but that one is still dangerous if DPS is low enough.

The Demon Tome in Gubal still eats people on a fairly regular basis.

Side note: #DancerFirstWorldProblems. Had another Dancer tell me to it's "better" to partner the Nin instead of the Sam(higher ilvl) because the sam stated he was new.

I only did it to shut her up, but I already knew it was a bad idea anyway. I will let you all draw your own conclusions from there.

Why do tanks not upgrade their gear by dungeon 65? Why do they come in this dungeon with 60 or below gear and pull everything like I'm posed to be god and heal thur everything when they are taking a million hits per second?And when we all die because they took on way more then they can literally maintain I look like the ass because I'm telling them they don't have the gear for it. When I first got it it was great, tanks were geared, DPS aoed and I was able to GRAVITY THEM TO HELL. But now... day 2? I'm popping all my OGCDs and my GCDS hoping the tank can press a CD so my CDs can get off cd because they are wet noodles. T.T

I recently did a couple of Mt Gulg runs on my SCH to help a friend get to 80 and we had this one tank who pulled huge (which I'm completely fine with; Seraph do your thing! I need to spam AoW) but went down in no time.
"haha maybe I don't have the gear for it" - nah, man. Tha real problem is that you're not using a SINGLE def cd on huge pulls.
You can get away with a fairly low ilvl as long as you know how to push your buttons. Unfortunately undergeared tanks usually come in the "the fuck are def cds?" edition aswell.

Both you and the poster before you made me lol. IT shouldn't be this bad... should it? Like I just did it again and it was GREAT. I got a tank who was geared AND used his CDS like it was 1995 and he just got the new Sony Discman. Was it a mistake to try out astro? Did I just open a can of worms I shouldn't have? Because if I remember correctly the 71 dungeon hits HARD. But this is going off my DPS plays. I'm scared.

I only bring up Astro cause people keep telling me it's bad :c But I like it so I started leveling with it.

I did a test for this the other week. I pulled as large as I could on mt gulg and I downgraded to augmented scaevan/scaevan and we pulled it off.
