Keybinds are mirrored on either side: single button press on the left, shift+ on the right.

The little observe icon on the top right of my bars opens/closes all the other hotbars for mounts, minions, emotes and classes/jobs.

Planning to make some further little tweaks later, but I like the foundation I've got here

I'm on PS4 so yeah. You have full control on where you want everything. And yes, I play on controller.

I would be curious to know what screen sizes you all are using those layouts on to know how well they would work on different size screens.

I have found that screen size can change how the hud looks. On my 55 in tv, my controller hud layout takes the bottom part of the screen and some of the top, leaving the middle free.

But on my 120 in projection screen, the same hud does not take up as much space and there is far more screen real estate to see the game.

Seeing the game on such a large screen is a totally different experience with everything so big and clear with the camera panned all the way out sitting 15 feet away. After doing it that way, I don't think I could play it on something like a laptop screen.

The res you play at helps too. If you play on a 4k small screen the ui would still be small. I tested this on my 4k LED 72 inch samsung tv. When I go to just basic 1080P the ui changes and gets HUGE. So I keep it at a nice 4k on my TV and PS4 pro. so everything is nice and tiny.

After many, many hours of playing around with the settings I finally made something that didn't obstruct my vision too much but still keeps all the important information close to the center (so I don't tunnel vision so horribly). I like the slightly staggered skill hotbars more than straight columns, I'm not sure why but it makes it easier for me to check skill cooldowns at a glance. I have a couple pop up bars for class changes, emotes, macros, mounts etc. Top left corner is empty for reasons.

Back when I was in WoW, they'd kick people out if they discovered they were clickers. Harh... but... the time it takes to click is one thing, another is the lost of focus on the action as your eyes move, and a third that will sound silly but adds up over time to something major is eye strain from constantly darting your eyes around.
    - you can likely be losing as much as a fourth or third of your performance potential by being a clicker... multiply your current DPS by 1.25 to 1.5 - that's what it could be if you managed to transition to keybinds.

Make a set of keybinds that let you memorize 'this key for that concept'.

For example my core rotation is always the same 3 fingers left-to-right in order on every job/class in every MMO, with a shift key for alternate versions of it, moving down one key row for it's AoE version, moving up one key row applies core buffs / debuffs.
One healers that's my core heals, and the row below is the DPS.

When I need more than 3 keys for the most common skills, I cycle in a few nearby keys - and I repeat which ones across all jobs/classes/MMOs... even in some FPS games I use a similar set of keys.

    - make a repeated pattern, and use it in every game mapping 'purpose to purpose'.

You should only ever be looking at the icons to count cooldowns... some people make special bars that are just rows of cooldown icons or proc icons...
