I avoid alliance roulette. It's not fun because Crystal Tower drops 90% of the time and it's a faceroll. I couldn't care less about the rewards, I'm happy to get them elsewhere.
So, if you're not doing it because it's not fun for you and by your own words you're getting fun elsewhere, why do you want a change to the content irrelevant to you?
Also FWIW, wipes in WoD and Fun Scaith are still rather common. Mostly due to people not doing mechanics properly, but eh.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.
Just because it's irrelevant to me, doesn't mean it's irrelevant to others. Don't get me wrong, I still do it once in a while, but I'm not happy about it. My primary concern is for new players though. Level 50 content may still be old content, but it's level cap content, and players will have been playing for at least 20-30 hours by that time. By that point, most people would expect some semblance of a challenge. But when the first alliance raids have zero mechanics, it paints a false picture of what the game is going to be like later down the line, and it's my belief that this is the reason everyone thinks FFXIV is baby's first MMORPG. Again, not asking for savage difficulty here, just want to be able to do mechanics again. A WoW player will encounter CT, he'll see that there's no mechanics to do, and he'll quit because that tells him that even endgame content is too easy. Say what you will, but level 50 content WAS endgame content at one point. So, if you're not doing it because it's not fun for you and by your own words you're getting fun elsewhere, why do you want a change to the content irrelevant to you?

The point that it WAS. Long time ago. Should CM and Praetorium also be bumped in difficulty? Force level sync to say 70 so it's once again less of a faceroll? It was ARR endgame. These are the new players introduction to level 50 content.Just because it's irrelevant to me, doesn't mean it's irrelevant to others. If you want to see level 50 endgame content, then Keeper of the Lake is not a faceroll, despite being a story dungeon. Then there are ARR 50 (Hard) dungeons ending with Amdapor Keep (Hard) which would fit ARR endgame better. And of course there are EX primals and Coils. Hells, take a bunch of sprouts to optional dungeons like Cutter's Cry, DD and AV.
That aside, at this point CT is pretty much a (side-)story content, and while optional, it's quite relevant for ShB.

I love this forumSo, if you're not doing it because it's not fun for you and by your own words you're getting fun elsewhere, why do you want a change to the content irrelevant to you?
Because people literally mindlessly run around here for reward, it will be cleared without many problems anyway.
Frankly, yes, they should have some kind of bite to them. It's a horrible anticlimax to the story as it is now. All that time spent hyping up the Ultima Weapon and......it melts.
I'd say that CM, Praetorium and Camp Westwind should get adjustments and SE seems to agree since the ARR reworks seems to be planning to alter them. All things considered, CM and Preatorium should be roughly as difficult as ARF, Ala Mhigo and Amaurot with Ultima Weapon, Thordan, Shinryu and Hades all having similar levels of difficulty.
I mean, personally I'm doing them for exp and such, but I'd like to at least have some level of fun at the same time. Instead of having roulettes just be a mindless slog. My brain pretty much shuts off whenever I load into LotA. I could literally autoattack my way through the raid for free exp if I felt like it. It's *boring.*
Even if you wanted to run these raids for fun, you couldn't. I used to run them for glamour regularly before the roulette existed, and they were pretty easy then, but not the total and absolute snoozefest we have now imo. It's more funny than fun watching bosses melt before they can even do any mechanics while I'm at level and can't even enjoy my full kit. Just 123123 oh was I supposed to dodge that? lol
Also imo CM and Prae shouldn't be group dungeons at all. That was a terrible design choice to begin with and the only benefit of them existing as they are is you can Netflix your way to almost an entire level even at 70+. Their issue isn't that they're too easy (though really in context, they are even more of a snoozefest than CT), but rather the literal hour+ of cutscenes between them. If they're gonna change them, it should be to make them solo or trust. Even if it means losing that sweet sweet Prae bonus.

You're REALLY missing the point, it's pretty amazing.Wow, a campaign to make older content more difficult. Kudos to you all!
But no, this won't have to happen.
Old content is old, and meant to be played by EVERYONE, not only by the elects who you think deserve to clear the content.
You want people learning to "git gud" ? Thank you but no, thank you.
Who wants difficulty can go to the new content and must stop looking at older content. If you want /flex your ego and how good you are with your skills, go flex it in latest savage and raids and stop asking to make old content less accessible to who is not skilled as you or, on worse cases, still have difficulties on clearing it today.

These raids were accessible by everyone when they were new, and people completed them fine then. All we are asking is a return to the old item levels. No other changes. The raids are laughably easy now.
