Not gonna lie, I personally avoid Limsa because any time I do, there's atleast 4 people playing 4 different songs on their Bard and it ends up being an ear piercing nightmare when they all mix together,

It's because the draw distance (and the amount of PC character displayed) on PS4 version is severely reduced. On PC, you're free to change those settings and that person probably set it all the way to unlimited...
I have an RTX 2080Ti, I9 9900K & 16Gb ram and on my system it will also framedrop to 40-30FPS, that's why I changed that setting to normal (whatever the default setting was) and that way it stays locked at 75FPS (which is my refresh rate).

You can turn off perform music in the audio settings.

Not really an issue for me since I'm never in Limsa (one of the reasons was because it's always crowded in there), but I also like to be in the expac cities during their time. During SB I was usually in Kugane / Rhalgr's Reach.
Now during ShB I'm usually in The Crystarium / Eulmore.
I often go to my house as well which has retrainer bell and mendor & junk vendor, there's also a market board nearby my house.
And when I go to bed, I turn off my PC. My system easily pulls over 600watt, that would just be a waste of money in electricity bills if I let it on while I'm not using it for several hours. Not sure why so many people leave their systems running at night.

Anyway I see no harm in this being done, I sometimes get a login queue again (and I'm not talking about the 'fake' on SE made to reduce the login stress thing).

Either your Limsa is much busier than mine or this is exaggerated. I have a gtx 1080, I7 and 16g ram and I run at 80 fps with the highest settings that game has and I only loose about 10 fps in Limsa at peak times...

But I do miss going to Limsa. It was my home and favorite city in v1 and originally in ARR, but I have since moved to Ul'dah because I just can't stand the amount of open world conversations in /s, the rmt, the emote spamming and the lala noises, not to mention the general cringe factor that Limsa consists of these days.

Then its a good thing that you can change the volume and/or mute performance sounds entirely. I did that a long time ago, especially with people using scripts etc to play the songs for them instead of doing it themselves without being able to tell the difference between someone who's put in the practice or someone who is running that, its a waste of time having it unmuted.
