The game has heart, like the devs who help to create it. WoW lost that heart years ago. I might not always agree with what the FF XIV dev team does but they are never going to please everyone all the time. But very rarely do I feel disrespected as a customer. With the WoW dev team...I feel disrespected every time I simply log in and deal with content that feels like it was created purely out of spite.
WoW died after Cata for many people, but designers working really hard every expansion looks better and better as times flies by, they using their engine to the fullest, making zones looks alive and looking cool and unique. (While FF has really great zone design on the concepts, the results are very disappointing, lack of trees, washed out colors and really bad mountains. If you look closer to ShB and ShdB zones, they look very cheap in details, ARR is really good, dungeons too, even Eureka did a better job than overworld zones). Some new gameplay stuff is nice and interesting, some not, this is fine, but BFA is just fail. Story is memes, dead long time ago. Overall Blizzard is different company now. I had really high hopes for 14, but year by year we're getting same PVE stuff and seems like devs don't want to bother with it much, cutting content and not bringing anything new to table (I'm talking about PVE, not RP nor crafting/gathering stuff). Maybe eureka is a best mid core content this game has to offer.
Maybe someday devs grew some balls, try to experiment and ask bigger budgets from daddy SE.
