The last part was mostly refering to IRL, I know mods are a thing and I do enjoy the FFXIV modding community greatly since they have done some cool things, and it boils down to how mods currently work in FFXIV and I do not see people not caring about how they appear under the assumption that others others are using mods. I do not think anyone is demanding anything from a DEV, people are simply making a request as a means of improving their personal experience. I understand people feel differently about things, but if the feature was made an option how would someone know they had ther appearance altered unless outside of finding a stream, screen shots, or they mention it. In the grand scheme I do think it is safe to say most people would not even know if someone was using the feature or not.I see no distinction. In both cases you wish to remove things that offend you on a personal level.
Only difference is: IRL there is usually nothing you can do about it, here in a game you think you can demand it from the developer.
You can demand all you want but the DEV is under no obligation to cater to your whim.
I find common ad-ridden radio and mainstream music super annoying and I often wish I had a pocket sized EMP ready to shut these devices up, so I am quite familiar with the desire to remove things from my perception I disagree with.
It has been established that the above is not true.
Repeating it won't change that fact.
You can. People have been doing it for years in pretty much any MMO I know of.
It's close to never official though and if the DEVs finds out you are doing it, your account is toast.

Okay, so what happens if someone is legit wearing the gear you hate and not just glammed on? Does the filter strip them naked? That sounds like it’d defeat the purpose of the filter, lmao.
Also, the devs are never going to do this anyway because a) that’s a lot of effort with a lot that can go wrong and b) ever heard the old Internet rule of “Don’t Like, Don’t Look”?
If I’m wearing a glam you hate and you can’t be bothered to angle the camera away, that’s your problem. And if we’re in a dungeon together, why the heck are you even staring at my glam? Eyes on the mobs and your surroundings, genius!
No matter how anyone spins it, they’re nothing good old fashioned looking away can’t solve. And are we really going to start griping about the less than 3 seconds someone jumping in your view would spend? Again, either they run off your screen or you angle the darn camera away. It’s not rocket science.
Speaking of, petition for a convenient nutkin glam for us to live our nude Thancred dreams. That oughta fix things!
This is, by far, the easiest solution to such an admittedly petty problem! Thank you!❤~Okay, so what happens if someone is legit wearing the gear you hate and not just glammed on? Does the filter strip them naked? That sounds like it’d defeat the purpose of the filter, lmao.

As for those of you who keep shooting down others' suggestions to resolve this, I just want to ask why you think it's right for you to expect people to cater to your whims while not offering to give the other side something to gain from it as well. The only people who would truly gain anything from this idiot problem (that's right, I said it! It's the dumbest problem I have ever seen!) are those who support it. I'm sorry but I can no longer take a neutral stance on this. I am wholeheartedly against it.

I think it's very telling that many of the same posters who frequently beg for 'more choice' in other threads are now coming into this thread in an effort to stifle attempts to grant other players that very same thing. Either you're legitimately all for more player choice or you're not. It's that simple.
I've openly advocated for more eye candy where the male models are concerned. That doesn't mean I'm against people wanting the option to hide such things if they so desire.
I'm always open to more options. However...that doesn't mean I always agree with what people are proposing, even if it is "more options".I think it's very telling that many of the same posters who frequently beg for 'more choice' in other threads are now coming into this thread in an effort to stifle attempts to grant other players that very same thing. Well said, and problem solved. No need for an extra feature that very few would use. Use the tools you've already been given and look away, or pay it no mind. Also, the devs are never going to do this anyway because a) that’s a lot of effort with a lot that can go wrong and b) ever heard the old Internet rule of “Don’t Like, Don’t Look”?

No, that doesn't solve the problem for everybody involved and it's a bit of a deceptive and dismissive take given that many posters have come into this thread and elaborated at length on their reasons for wanting such a feature.
If the goal is to compromise, then giving players the tools required to tweak more elements of the game to their liking is very much an efficient means of allowing various groups of players to be content.
Oh, but it does solve it just fine. Why ask the devs to put resources into a problem that players can solve themselves by looking away? I'm not being deceptive, though maybe a little dismissive. However, I am also using common sense. No, that doesn't solve the problem for everybody involved and it's a bit of a deceptive and dismissive take given that many posters have come into this thread and elaborated at length on their reasons for wanting such a feature.

You have to realize that a lot of this thread is the same people posting over and over in order to keep the post showing. Not all, but a fair amount. I'm sure some would use it, but I wouldn't use this thread as any sort of gauge of interest.
