Why would you even bother to say anything beyond "Gimme a sec" if you had to do something like that? Why would you indirectly insult someone with that information? Most players understand you don't say things like "Hold on gonna mute the idiot" when you don't like what someone is saying.

I mean... you'd think, yeah, but the quantity of "the mentor system is broken because mentors are rude and toxic in chat" or "raiders are rude and toxic in chat" or "people who use parsers are rude and toxic in chat" threads on this very forum suggests that this sort of common decency—and common sense—is not universal; someone would inevitably say something rude and toxic about removing glam.
