For me, it's because the OP made this thread because they dislike the idea of men in dresses. These threads literally only pop up when it is a male character somehow breaking a gender norm. Did this thread pop up when women got dresses? No. Did they use women as suits as an example? No. Men in dresses were the trigger. If I genuinely believed for even one second the majority of people wanting this feature genuinely just wanted immersion or whatever, then fine. But they don't. The majority are bothered by the breaking of gender norms. We saw the same thing with the bunny girl outfit being made unisex. They use the idea of immersion to hide their prejudice.

You apparently missed the part where OP mentioned catgirls in string bikinis as one of the things she finds distasteful, but sure, go ahead and assume everyone who supports this option is just prejudiced. Maybe try not to generalize a large portion of a forum post based off of one post.

Nobody is obligated to like a particular choice of fashion. I'm a guy who is into other guys and I think the likes of the bunny suit look utterly ridiculous. It doesn't help that most people I've met who choose to use it only do so because they're women in real life who try to turn gay men into a fetish.

Though my support for this proposed feature isn't due to that. It's due to my strong dislike for the likes of the frog suit and pig suit.

In the way in which the suggestion is proposed everybody gets to do their own thing - which makes the backlash all the more strange. If people can advocate for restrictions on gear to be loosened, then it's only fair that others are allowed to petition for a feature to block out things they do not wish to see. Within reason, of course.

I can disagree and still understand the opposing side. Up to a point. Changing what I see on my screen doesn't remove any control of your character from you.

Except - as we continue to be unable to agree on - some of us do see that as removing control over our character - specifically, the ability to control how we are presented to others.

It's not about wanting to wear obnoxious outfits or "be seen". but if you look at my character, I want her wearing what I picked for her - not the AF gear designers' ideas of what constitutes "feminine outfits", which usually means a miniskirt.

And it is putting some measure of control back into the hands of a player if they don't like how you're presenting yourself to them. You are unaffected, other than for the fact that you can't force them to look at whatever appearance it is you concocted. Really, this is delving into not being able to control what others are seeing and that is not something anyone is entitled to.

If SE do implement this, what stops people from demanding similar things in other areas of the game.

Dont like a certain race? toggle for that.

Dont like certain minions? toggle for that.

Plenty of immersion breaking mounts that can fly but shouldnt be able to, toggle for that?

Where would it end and if your thinking "well do this one thing then just say no to the rest" then that would be kinda unfair would it not?

Im not saying thats what would actually happen and i dont really care about this request since it wont affect me. Im merely curious about the consequences should SE agree to add this.

What? Almost all of the AF gear looks identical on both genders with the exception of a scant few.
