Somebody from the English dub needs to explain for me, why exactly so many English-players hate Astrid's suggestion that much.
->As I play in my native language a ka German (and the game uses most of the time regular Hochdeutsch and no oldfashioned dialects), I don't see where all the fuzz is coming from.

To roughly translate for you what Astrid is saying in the German version:
"Ah, you're back! Are you curious, which advice I have to offer to our lonely soul? I like to tell you! Simply put he has to expand his horizon."

"Through the talk with him and his acquaintances' statements it became undoubtedly clear, that he has an untainted reputation as a leader and pillar of society."

"But because he got an important and influential position, it's probably not easy for him to find that, what he's searching for, at his workplace."

"And since he has no noteworthy interests apart from his duties, the options of our man are sadly very limited. That's why I suggest, that he should start the search for love at his customers - those, who know him good enough to appreciate his strong character, but aren't so close to him, that a relationship could become unpleasant."

I mean, I don't want to scare any ancient people here with my own opinion, but it's quite normal to find a partner at one's workplace.
->Also, the way it sounds in German, Astrid points out that he a ka the Lancer-tutor should get to know people who AREN'T that dependent on him / wouldn't stand all day under his feet, if you get what I mean.
