You know. When this plugin FIRST was introduced. Players were warned that it intjected client data, making it a RED FLAG for potential bans in the future, because of how it worked.
Now people are surprised when the warning came true?

Jokes on SE, someone will program another addon to place phantom waymarkers where only those who use said program will see them. What a joke.
This is SE's final warning on the following:
Parer (Especially those streamers)
3rd Party Tools (for PVE/Feast/Gathering)
NSFW Mods (Especially those lack of IQ that post on social media)
Any other discussions or arguments are pointless.
This is their property and they are about to run out of patience.
Please also don't bother to give our out of bound example.
In reality, every business firm forbidden their employees to post images related to the business on social media. You disobey and you get fired; in this case, account termination.
Please do, there is always account termination.
Trust me, they are serious when they have said it (quite few evidences from their FF11 management)
They have wiped every gil farmers and gil buyers in one swipe when FF11's subscription already beaten by vanilla wow
The wiped most of known HNMLS on FF11 across all servers

It rarely happens outside of Ultimate fights or Savage fights within a week of release. That doesn't mean they're useless. Moving markers in Ultimate fights can be invaluable in speeding up progression, and it is something that very skilled players can use to make progression go quicker. If you have a very good understanding of the upcoming phase/mechanic and mark the key spots for your teammates mid pull, that really increases their success rate and increases the likelihood your team will clear or make progression.

It's been a thing in a few fights, but the majority of users would probably only experience it in 24-mans. A lot of the 24-man fights have add spawns for each alliance that need to be separated. If waymarks aren't put down to designate group spots then there tends to be some confusion. It doesn't matter so much at this point because most people are geared and familiar enough with the current 24-man, but it will effect new 24-mans which are much easier to wipe on when there's confusion afoot.
Honestly, the more I think about it the more ridiculous the whole thing seems. The average player basically got punished because of 1) a lack of foresight by the development team to implement a more user friendly marker system before now and 2) PC modders who are going to continue to mod anyways because it can't be detected.
@OP
I don't understand. How is that related to fairy and if that was a comparison that is a terrible terrible comparison.
Also tell me where 97% of the playerbase moves markers around in every trial. The argument I see is related to coils... which is a 5 YEAR OLD RAID.
Really? we're going to complain bc something that had use in one of the coils once 5 years ago?
Do you realize how ridiculous you people sound?
People are talking about moving markers for a key early mechanic in Unending Coil of Bahamut. The first Ultimate raid that came out two years ago. The one raid that is still considered the absolute hardest content in the game, and that SE is adamant on never allowing players to unsync it.@OP

Go do UCoB and make it to the Nael divebomb phase, if you even can. Because with the inability to place markers mid-combat, the mechanic just changed from 1-2 people on lookout duty checking to see where and in which order the dragons outside of the arena spawn in, to having 7 members of the raid (MT never gets targeted IIRC) needing to pay attention while they are still expected to resolve mechanics going off from the main boss at the same time. And this example isn't even something that has anything to do with third party programs automatically placing markers, since the random directional nature of the mechanic means the lookouts were placing markers manually.

"Consider this old adage: When a Bard sings alone in a desert, and no one is around to hear him... Is he truly singing?"
