They responded to the fact that the current system has a tendency not to randomize premade groups. It tries to put them all on Maelstrom. You still get a max of 4 queing. But if you were so inclined with the current system and some coordination you could get more then 4 all onto Maelstrom.
If your problem is that less then 4 people can que together at once, which is legitimate. All you can do is spam a thread and live letter like the Japanese do. If they would build a better matchmaking system they would have no excuse not to let 8 mans back.
This is exactly the reason I said 'please no', also. Add to that the fact that I pvp on a healer and half the heal spells don't work cross-alliance, that'd be a big negative for me. I feel like shuffling ALL size parties queueing in is too broad a change. They could have altered it so parties larger than a light party, or more than 3 get shuffled, but any size party getting shuffled is kind of bleh.

I am super confused. So lets try to see if we are on the same page.
First before this mess started parties were suppose to be shuffled(freelanced). Not the players just random placement of the party into one of the three GCs. You would see the odd time where one full party would be empty at the start of the match. This is not something new.
Second SE decided that 8 man parties would be unbalanced. Not explained and discussed very well with the community. Close to this time they kill 24 man maps.
Third multiple Data centers in an act of defiance decided to stack on one GC with the launch of the new mode. The leader board is an embarrassing disaster. SE has no choice but to finally freelance everyone.
Fourth with the new freelance. That was suppose to already be on premades to begin with shows that the system actually prioritizes Maelstrom. Maybe none of the player base new about this. I have doubts about this though. Players are generally craftier and know loopholes well before devs.
Fifth they are going to fix the premade freelancer that was suppose to be freelanced before we started down this road.
Now you and the person you quoted make no sense, to me at least. If you que in a party of two they aren't breaking you up. The person you que with will not be randomly moved to another party or GC. You will always be together. This does not change how you heal them. You can still be a pocket healer and run around and try to kill other players.

Yes, it seems some people have misunderstood things. They are not randomly breaking up parties lall.
Seriously, since SE have had this "casual" mindset from the start, I'm dumbfounded on why it hasn't always been like what they try to make it in 5.2. It seems like a no-brainer. Not that I necessarily agree with that approach...
Pls bring 8 man frontline back. ;-;
