As for the issue at hand, parsers are more of a convenient time-saver. Sure, you could sit down and manually calculate optimal pps in certain legs of a given fight on a piece of paper... but games are for fun and almost no one really wants to spend HOURS doing that. Is scrolling through this games unorganized combat log for 5 minutes every time you wipe really adding to the experience in a meaningful way?

I'm afraid the main focus of this post is to discuss more advanced add-ons beyond parsers. And those, or most of them, are cheating tools. No argument needed here.

As for your other point, no offence but, people who can clear hardcore content addon-free ARE better than those who cannot.

I never argued it was necessary, simply that its a convenience that you can't realistically expect people not to use, especially given that they exist for nearly every single other game in this genre and are a fundamental part of raiding culture. You realize the devs themselves use parsers internally, right? YoshiP even has public raid logs xD.

Anyway, I'm just going to assume you are trolling at this point as it was JP players from Asura who were caught using the honestly egregious 3rd party addon that started the latest wave of discontent. (the one that draws in untelegraphed aoes). JP players were also heavily using the addon that automatically places markers during the ultimate world first race lol

According to the ToS, there is no such thing as "responsibly" using third party anything.
