Yes, it's very pathetic for people to complain when something isn't up to snuff./s I think we should have this thread over and over every single time a new piece of gear or a new hairstyle is added to the game that doesn't work on every race and gender. Maybe eventually something will get through that patience is thinning.

We understood that most of the old stuff would probably never get converted but there is absolutely zero excuse as to why anything Post-5.0 isn't fully compatible. None.

If they don't want to (or can't) make new helmets viable on Viera/ Hrothgar, fine. However, if that is the case, then they should not make helmets the only rewards for events...

This helms look silly to me but they are a tradition.

I mean, you could say the same for the Cloud hair. It's an exclusive thing given out as a RARE reward for art contest.

Re-read that friendo, that was said BEFORE the "OHHHH MY GOD! Look at what the dev team did behind my back! " post.

The plan was this.
At release they would have NOTHING but stuff like snowman head and they would work on releasing some stuff bit by bit. (You can equip them, but they won't be displayed. However, things that replace the head are OK, like the snowman head, fat chocobo head, etc. No glasses. Basically, the default is that it won't be shown, and only things that replace the head are ok.)

Devs took it upon themselves to bang out that work load on their own free time behind his back. That is why on release they had glasses and such. Yay, the devs made "500+ head gears work" that were planned to be worked on and released later.

That is over. They did what that quote said they were gonna do but instead of "lil by lil" it was banged out for release without him knowing.

Glasses and so forth would not display either at first, but after seeing how many people called for us to do something, anything, to address this after the announcement, the character team took it upon themselves to use their spare moments to make it possible—without telling me. More than five hundred and forty such items were carefully modified by our designers so that all would display correctly with our new face models.

How about you re-read, friendo, and tell me where was it specifically stated that the 500+ items that were made compatible were the only ones planned? Where/when was it stated that "it is over"? It was never said that they weren't going to work on retroactively fitting more headpieces to the new races. Translation can very well have an impact on how things are interpreted but the wording in the above quote implies that out of the thousands of headpieces in the game, 500 were able to be fitted earlier than planned.

Like you said the Cloud hair is a rare reward, on the other hand, the Heavensturn's helmets are a seasonal event item meant for everyone to celebrate the new year...but two of the races cant wear them (well have them be visible). And I said have the helmet be the only reward, they could add a circlet, or hair clip in addition to the helm; more choices are not bad.

I am very dissappointed in the team not making the heavensturn headgear work on Viera. Its like excluding a race from taking part.

I am happy with my Viera, I can wear most of the head gear I would choose anyway. Usually I have head slot turned off completely. I generally don't change hairstyles much either once I'm happy. So this isn't a problem that applies to everyone who made a Viera. I certainly am not seeing less of them in game ( since most seem to wear the minimum possible, along with the height and bunny ears, they are hard to miss)

I haven't made a Hrothgar yet so can't comment there.

By all means state your unhappiness, folks, but please do so politely and don't assume everyone feels the same way

Yeah how can these people complain that new event items are not useable by their race when some other event items before them was...I mean you could also just ignore the thread too?

In the end this headgear should imo not even be a problem for the new races...heck we even have some new exclusive gear coming for another country and there they simply "deleted" the ears of the Miquotes. Why is it not possible for Vieras?

@Elladie: Its fine if you are fine with it. But I am not sure why the last sentence was necessary. The only ones that are not polite in this thread are those that come in here to complain that people complain about this again. That is unnecessary and imo rude. Otherwise the OP and others have been quite nice about it.

Also just because one still plays the race does not mean they are happy about everything. Maybe some like it enough that they can overlook the negatives but are annoyed at the lack of hairstyles and headgear. Maybe some are waiting and hoping that more will come and some might be 100% fine with it. (But honestly having more options would also not negatively affect those)

It's called context clues and using logic.

-Not gonna be able to use all head gear but some head gear planned to be worked on post release. And we plan to released it bit by bit, but basically nothing on release.
-Wowzers, the team went behind my back and made over 500 head gears work for them! This was work planned for post release that they did on their own time
- (Said head gear is very much all the non-hat/ helm head gear in this game at that time)
- NEW head gears comes out with the expac and they simply do not allow new hats or helms to work with these races.
- NEW head gear follows the same pattern as the head gear on release
- "Bu-bu-but they never SAID that was it though!"

If they were gonna make HATS and HELMS work from past expacs then ... why would they exclude them from the new ones? What would be the point in waiting to make the new Healer PvP hat work when all the NEW PvP mask and visors work or make the recent dng's hats work months after release?
You can sit here and get all huffy about them not making good on what you think is a promise, I'm telling you that looking at the reality of the situation you should not expect them to buck this pattern.

So they need to make MORE things for this lil event just to make it fair?
