Well, if we're telling people to try WoW, then I would say wait until Shadowlands (the upcoming expansion) is released next year since WoW is changing its class design (again, it seems), this time to put more emphasis on the class itself rather than the specializations. (I'm kind of worried about it myself as I love how my Fire Mage works right now, and I hope the change does not mean I'll have to use the Frost elemental as Fire, etc.)

Experiences are like that, eh?

That's why I always feel comparing community is almost useless in general as people will interact with a small portion of the community and their experiences will differ. (The possible exception being if you're talking about a niche activity that would reduce the part of the community you're talking about, but even then there is no guarantee.)

    This smells fishy.
Also implying WoW pvp is any better, well...

But back to the topic, OP should give a try WoW and see it himself how it is. The fact is fast combat in WoW has been compromised by the lack of skill diversity and gameplay, which makes you spam few same skills over and over. No one who actually plays wow will tell you that their game class design is good, it gots so much worse after legion and a ton of people left the game because of the changes implemented to make the game more casual friendly.
Here's an image I made of my BLM while I was waiting for DF; at the link address itself you can see the date. That on the other hand I don't have to prove anything to you either, but from time to time I like to shut the mouth of people who insinuate things in a malicious way. This time it's your turn. I guess it's your move to take that strategy because the debate is getting out of hand, isn't it? Too bad.

The last thing I'm interested in is coming to the forum of a game to try to prove that the other game that makes it up is better in certain respects. But I've already made it clear that you have 0 experience and that your opinions carry the same weight as if I were talking about football at a professional level.

So much so that you're pointing the finger at me and saying I bought the account. Shame on you.

I played WoW from launch till Cataclysm. At launch people were pretty cool and laid back. With the arrival of dps meters and mods that tell you everything to do including when to scratch your ass the game degenerated to a toxic cesspool. People allowed to talk about anything and everything in open world chats spewing all kinds of hatred and nonsense. If you don't encounter it you have your chat off. Although come to think of it with the amount of people that are leaving WoW these days maybe you don't see it so much.

FFXIV has dps meters too. Whatsmore, people even uses it on dungeons to harrash new players so... what are you arguing about exactly?

This game doesnt have those mods because you dont need. Savage encounters have 4 mechanics and the game itself tells you what to do or when the thing gonna happen. And to be honest... i saw what kind of mods this game have and... i would prefer the other ones tho.

I'd rather people have freedom of speech even if it means getting four trolls than say a swear word in Limsa and getting ten days ban. Or that your own enemies or people who don't like you can use a colloquial chat to frame you and get you thrown out of the game. On the other hand, if anything, WoW have one of the most loyal fan bases in the video game world. Most of those who leave, end up coming back.

I am sure people do use it to harass other people. The difference is in WoW you can bash people all day. In FFXIV if you bash people and get reported you get warned or banned.

You have all jobs at 80 lvl on the character you are currently writing on the forum, why are you showing me some random miqote. (ง ͠ಠ_ಠ)ง
Also you was wrong on BLM gameplay, it does not have 1-2-3 neither is boring, unless you dont try to play competitively and dont understand how it works. Still ten times better than any mage in wow.

I would not expect much, blizzard care to make their game casual friendly like fortnite, they even are taking away lvling part cutting it in half. Maybe they will come up with FFXIV design, who knows.

I find in WoW the AOEs happen alot slower as well as the mechanics.

In FFXIV while the global cooldown is longer there are times where you are focused more on mechanics due to them happening simultaneously. For me it depends on the job you play and how complex the dps rotation is.
