A Sword Saint is an advanced form of a Paladin, which sacrifices his Shield for a second sword to become more offensive and parries attacks instead of blocking attacks with a shield with the swords to perform deadly counterattacks.
Thats why i said, alot of mentions here made no sense unless SE has plans for giving us further advanced jobs with say Lvl 90, because they could turn then jobs like the redmage for example into an advanced form the Elementalist
They could turn the Astrologian into an advanced job, the Oracle which is then basically Astro + Geo together, because Geomancer is only part if Astros story, no need to make two jobs, when you can make basically 2 in 1 by advancing the job progression in FF14 to a final last tier.
Then could upgrade Se Machinist into Gunners to officislly retain back some skills back they had before the redesign with a gameplay twist to be able to switch to Dual Pistols as MH n OH weapon instead of guns turning Maschinist basically into FFX-2 Yuna style gunners to give players the choice of playing either a machine heavy style, or gunning heavy style with maschine skills switching to pistol skills when equipping dual pistols.

Then could Se upgrade Paladins to Sword Saints, Ninjas to Assassins, warriors officially into Berserkers and so on and make the gameplay of the classes more interesing with new mechanicd eventually being added

...Then again maybe not, especially after what they've done with the healers in 5.0.
I don't doubt it. What little we've seen of Geomancer in XIV is not much like Conjurer and seemingly more aligned with AST.

Still, I'd rather see a non-magical healer for a change so I've shifted from Green Mage to "Chemist" or whatever they end up calling it. I don't see melee healers working in this game so something that works at range but isn't a spellcaster could be fun.

I've thought a bit more about this topic and this sort of thing falls in line with my thinking as well. It's true that some of the proposed classes do seem similar to ones we already have but that's not necessarily a bad thing. What SE could do is some sort of branching or spec system where you could have, say, Archer split into either Bard or Sniper. Go the DPS support route with heavy AoE or Sniper that focuses purely on DPS and single target. That would keep them from having to make completely separate jobs with completely separate animation sets and gear sets which the devs frequently mention as reasons to not make new jobs while at the same time giving players the variety and diversity they are asking for.

I voted for Green Mage because controllers feel like a forgotten playstyle since holy trinity became the standard party composition MMOs are designed around. Juggling buffs and debuffs and using utility and CC spells at opportune moments feels great. That said, I seriously doubt we would ever see this playstyle make it into FFXIV, as it is fundamentally designed around the holy trinity.

Big shoutout to Chocobo Knights. One of most iconic fantasy images is that of a knight on horseback. It is most unfortunate that video games hardly ever fulfill that fantasy. Either you can't fight mounted at all, or if you can it's either impractical or the mechanic is straight up crap. I think Mount & Blade Warband is the only game where I was able to have fun being a knight on horseback. If it wasn't for Green Mages being ever so slightly more likely to make it into FFXIV (albeit with such major changes they probably wouldn't be anything like how I envisioned them), I would have voted for Chocobo Knights.

I want a Viking class, with Warhammers for weapons.

The lack of Blunt weaponry is real.

Probably Chemist. I've been playing FF Tactics and the very first healer you get is Chemist so maybe I'm biased, but even after that potions in older FF's have always been a important source of healing for the entire party throughout a entire fight, you know how much they'll heal so they're very consistent, only problem is getting the Gil to buy them but that usually becomes a non issue in the older FF's I've played, don't know how 14 would handle getting the potions.

Maybe they could do something similar in 14 where each potion heals a set amount, but that set amount gets upgraded as the Chemist levels up, IDK, it'd require more thought and I'd prefer to focus on more important things on Christmas Eve rather than silly job ideas.

In FFX-2, Alchemist had a skill called Stash. From Stash, they could use any learned item an infinite amount of times. Meaning they could use Potions, Hi-Potions, X-Potions, Elixirs, etc infinitely. They'd most likely do a similar thing with the items being "infinite" (yet limited) by making them be created from your own Aether (meaning MP).

Many of these classes/jobs are already covered, so adding them would just be putting in duplicated jobs.

Then some of them just wouldn't work in an MMO, especially with XIVs system.

A couple of these could also be melded or have some of its ideas put into the already existing jobs. Have how they work change up, like how ShBs White Mage has drifted away from using the lands elements and is Embracing light magic. Becoming a fully realized White Mage

At least one of the new jobs needs to be a Healer. If the next Expansion doesn't include a healer I can't imagine what the healer player base would do.

I personally would love a Battle Medic, following the concept of the Chemist.

We've seen many Concepts for Chemist style healers in the healer forums. Most seem to work around a Mudra style type of Mixing skill, which honestly seems very interesting to me.
