    Red Mage is a job that's a hybrid of Black and White Mage, yet doesn't play or feel like either. I'm sure they can design Geomancer in a way where it's not a blatant copy of Conjurer/White Mage, even if they share similar concepts.
    ...Then again maybe not, especially after what they've done with the healers in 5.0.

    I want to say Puppetmaster because that job is a ton of fun in ffxi, but....with the trajectory this game is going I have a feeling it would be so sickly kawaii that it would ruin the job completely and make it more of a joke.

    Green mage would also be fun since rdm is basically just a budget blm with a lackluster physical rotation, but since they stripped the game of buffs and debuffs that is out...

    Being of pure Nordic decent I would like me a dual axe wielding Viking, but I also love the aesthetic cor got in ffxi, so likely those 2

    Nah, its basically this game's Paladin if you removed heals and added a major lifedrain to Atonement

    In XI it uses a musket, but XIV could make it a twist and have it be a support/ranged DPS that uses dual musket pistols, and throws dice and cards. I can already imagine the names of certain abilities: "Stacked Deck" "Snake Eyes" "Six Shooter" "Loaded Dice" "Royal Flush" "Poker Face" "Lady Luck" "Blackjack". Yeah, it's casino themed, and what better place to have the job quest start at? The Gold Saucer!

    It would seem a bit soon since we just had Dancer, and ranged DPS need some tuning as it is.

    Kind of but not really. Sword Saint as a class would not make sense really, as the only person with this title was said to have mastered all types of classes that used sword (which is essentially why he was called Sword Saint).

    Sword Saint would be a heavily armored and overpowered DPS class, but have access to using one-hand sword, two-hand sword, Rapier, Katana, Ninja Blades, etc.

    My dream job would be a rune knight type. Tank (or maiming dps) with heavy armor, 2h runeblades not as oversized as DRK swords, like an inverse red mage with some ranged abilities but mostly melee. Maybe say they'd have ranged gauge spenders etc. Similar to how paladin is a tank but its spells have range to them. My first thought is tank but making a maiming dps may help it stand out more from paladin.

    Depends if we go by the concept or execution.

    Concept was master swordsman who used any and all swords and swordskills.

    Execution was: I have a haste sword, shield, cloak, and have DD+Lifedrain, DD+break or targeted AE, bonk bonk bonkbonk bonk bonk bonk bonk. As a class, it was absolutely wasted on the guy who could sneeze on you for lethal damage. It just let him sneeze at a group of people for lethal damage.



    The biggest problem with classes being added to 14 is that 14 doesnt do subtlety or nuance, and has no idea how to handle classes that were designed around multiple different weapons.

    I can use a sword and a katana dual wielded! Thats nice, but you cant.

    I'm, designed around using a spear or greatsword. Thats cool, you cant.

    My kit has a few real damage skills, but the core of it is being a passive support. thats cool, but thats not a supported class in current gen MMO's.

    This class can act as a passable enough tank and healer, with a kit that does a whole lot of "wait, thats a thing?" Cool, but 14 doesnt workt hat way.

    Temple Knight. (also Oracle. Mediator.) ... :|

    pretty much word for word what I've been asking to have for years. Kind of lost hope in recent years, but I'll like your post and cast my vote in the poll anyway.
