Does this include dudes, or do dudes get plank-butts forever? (I don't know how I feel about wearing clothes just for an anatomically correct butt. XDD It sounds so silly xD)

I won't be coming back to FFXIV's forums. The forum vibe is way too venomous and brings out the worst in me. I don't like who I am on the forums, so it's best to distance myself.

Games had sliders before xiv released too, even 1.0.There are, for sure. When FF XIV first relaunched CC wasn't too bad, but it is starting to show its age at this point. A lot of other MMOs have sliders for just about everything. A butt slider is where people chose to pick their battle first it seems, and to be honest, it is one of the more glaring issues with character models.
Personally, beyond height, muscle, and chest sliders (male and female), the rest can be presets for all I care. Having sliders for everything just makes it harder to find the right proportion imo. I spend wayyyy more time in char creation in games with sliders, and it's even more of a mess once you get in game, realize something is off, and have to spend another 3 hours trying to recreate the original plus fix the issues it had.

Exactly! In GW2 for example, Iwastedspent too much time balancing my Asura because moving one slider made another facial portion look weird (e.g. removing cheecks made the lips more pointy), so it turned into an eternal fumbling. When it was done, I noticed the engine - the lighting to be more precise - was off as it created a weird shadow due to my face geometry, so I had to move some more sliders...

This game's CC was always bad and outdated. Hell, the only reason I'm happy we got Viera as they are is because they're the only race that can look like actual black women.
The only hope we have for a better CC is a new MMO as far as I can see.
Yeah, we are definitely not getting an improved customization ever. Yoshida and the dev team just don’t express much interest in doing that unfortunately. So, whenever a new mmo is announced, (likely 2025 if I had to guess) we just have to hope they learn from their mistakes on XIV.

I'm not too excited about another FF MMO. It'll probably just be Fortnite 2 with a FF skin.Yeah, we are definitely not getting an improved customization ever. I was just exaggerating, but there was a statement by Yoshida around here, where he said if he was to make another FF MMO it would be completely different, it sounded kind of like a MOBA or something. I'd have to find the quote, I know it was posted once in the male viera thread, but I don't know where it's source is. I'm working off my memory from months and months ago.

I think it's less about interest and more about limitations and recognizing how much of people's enjoyment of this game is focused on aesthetics. Like, this is a pretty solid solution to a problem. Give people hopefully big ass GEARS (hoping and praying that it's not just this one) so that they have the option in game if they want that look that doesn't demand they have to tackle this whole dang monster of a system.Yeah, we are definitely not getting an improved customization ever. Their janky old af CC system makes it so that in order to make changes like a butt slider they would have to alter every leg gear for every race to allow them to have butts of w/e size and alter many MANY tops to not clip those butts cause your character doesn't have clothing placed ontop of their model ... gear replaces your model with that of w/e gear and applies settings to it. tis why I currently have a bug reported that causes my character's torso to hover in mid air when matching certain tops with alliance striking skirt.
That's one of those pay-for-it-later type problems that come from making a mad dash to save what was a dumpster fire of game back then, this game has a lot of systems that are hard to work around now. Could legit see them releasing a new FF mmo but 2024 at this rate.
